If you are free check your candidate campaign web site, get involved in driving others to the polls.

If you have some free time be sure to bring your video camera to the polls, you will have to stand outside set parameters; if you are in key states it might be worth your while to document any potential voter suppression.

Expect the scary robo calls and disregard them.

Bring identification to the polling place and check ahead of time to clarify the identification issues and procedures in your state.

No, not for this occasion. This occasion calls for a little suffering, a sacrifice. Your feet will forgive you.

Truss yourself up. Make it colorful, accessorize. If you never dress up take this opportunity to do so. Dressing up is theater, and this is the perfect time to join the theater of this past year.

Shady Glade, Blue Iris, and Royal Lilac are totally in, and if you don’t know who you are voting for that is the color path you should follow.

Burnt Orange and Withered Rose are two “this season colors” for McCain Voters.

The Color Purple, seen heavily as the base color this fall, is the no brainer color for Obama supporters. If purple is not your color you can either accessorize with it instead, or cover a lovely purple shirt with a green jacket. Green being the other must have color base for the season.

Make an occasion out of it. Those voting places are rather drab, and people dress and groom appallingly when they vote, sometimes even forgetting to brush their teeth. You could easily start a new trend among voters. Voting Chic it will be called. Everyone will want to do it. You may even make the cover of “Voting Day Magazine”.

Men, check out GQ, they are full of fashion advice for men, adding a purple or withered rose shirt or sweater with decent no pleat front pant and navy blazer will work. No green jackets for you, this is not St Patrick’s day and green doesn’t work any other time for men. Check out the Sean John gallery I swear saw some purple shirts in the 5th avenue store online, they’d work with the his tailored suits or the jeans.

If you’re not into fashion head to the polls a few hours early in your gas guzzling ford F-50, pack the grill, throw on a couple of 5 pound T-Bones ( ok times are rough hot dogs and special sauce), drag out the Corona, and plop down in your partisan bag chair for a couple hours with your best buds.

Psyche yourself up for the big vote. After a few beers, a good steak or crispy hot dog. you can stroll on in, give each other a few hearty fist pumps, and cast your vote. Might as well make party out of it.
