My “observation and report” on the Jody Hill directed, Seth Rogen starring, venal film of the same name, made at Legendary Pictures, and distributed by Warner Bros.
SETH ROGEN: when we’re having sex and she’s unconscious like you can literally feel the audience thinking, like, how the fuck are they going to make this okay? Like, what can possibly be said or done that I’m not going to walk out of the movie theater in the next thirty seconds? … And then she says, like, the one thing that makes it all okay:
BRANDI: “Why are you stopping, motherfucker?”
When your best friend, drunk out of his mind, and hardly able to stand, implores you to hand him the car keys, do you give them to him? Of course you don’t.
Then what is so funny/OK about fucking a drunk out of her mind, pill popping, alcoholic after she vomits all over herself, when she momentarily arouses from her stupor to tell you to go on?
Answer, nothing. It’s called rape, there is no way you can spin this to make it alright.
I hope these men end up with someone’s dick up their ass one night when they’ve had too much tequila. OOPS. Do you think Seth Rogen would be eager to star in that movie? Warners Brothers so eager to distribute it?
Anna Faris, are you that desperate for work? Shame on you. Yes, and please don’t start on me for blaming the women. Shame, shame, shame on her.
I also hope this movie fails miserably, but given the searches for “rape”, “fun with rape”, “how to rape”, “how to get away with date rape” and so on that land here, a site which has some but not all that many posts in which the tags are rape, rape culture, or date rape, I fear the worst. Warner Brothers probably did their research based on internet search terms.
