Questions that must be asked.

Where in the World Is <strike>Carmen Sandiego</strike> Governor Mark Sanford. No wait, maybe it should be why do we care where in the world Governor Mark Sanford is?

Why didn’t I know that David Rhode was kidnapped by the Taliban last year?

Why you just can’t trust anyone to do their jobs, or take care of the interests of those they serve?

I mean why is Wonkette now covering the news as well as any major media outlet?

Why does a metro train, set on automatic, a train of a type in a similar accident in 2004, get two months behind on brake maintainance? For that matter why is a model recommended for replacement due to concerns about how these old things will hold up in crashes and or some indication the sensor on that model had been problematic, still remain in service?

As someone who takes the metro periodically it is a little disconcerting to know how old these cars actually are, many dating back to the 70′s, and given the record of metro the last couple of year it probably is worth noting. Train Car in Rear-End Accident Was Overdue for Brake Work

How do 9,000 bottles of pathogens go undiscovered at Fort Detrick? I have a stake in this as I’ve posted before in “Who Ya Gonna Call When There’s Anthrax in The Hall” I don’t live that far from there, and as I’ve written before about the whole anthrax filled envelopes situation that occurred here when I was in high school, it doesn’t make one feel particularly secure.

Yea, just a bunch of vials which happen to be left out of the database and accumulated over the decades. Vials which, because they were not in the database, could easily have been taken and used to harm any number of people, like that the anthrax of a few years back which also supposedly came from Fort Detrick.

Why we so quickly seem to forget about the mess of Iraq.

Has anyone seen my Visa check card?

Due to my brief attendance at a news and politics anonymous meeting I managed to abstain from watching news and politics this past couple of weeks, so it is thanks to Wombat I know of the little tush-wipe Tucker Carlson’s show cancellation. Thank you to the gods in charge of ass-wipe motormouth annihilation. I hope those gods have influence on those “other gods”, the ones in charge of pundits who used to have shows therefore much be seen positioned as an expert guest on every other show touting to be real political commentary.

There is a notice, coming to those in the blogesphere who have used the word politics even once as a tag, of a new site called sexy politics. I don’t have a clue what it is, or what the qualifications of the owners of the site have, it looks more like they are tech savvy, as opposed to anything else, though tech and politics these days equal sexy – yes. I haven’t had time to spend there yet, but it may have potential. For those of you who can’t stand politics unless it’s sexy this may be the place for you, in a political social network sexy show-of your political knowledge kind if way.

The site appears to be in beta at this time, and there is some kind of question area which somehow gives you status. The questions are short, made for the MTV ten second attention span generation. I suggest registering under a false name to start, to see how you do, before admitting to your score in any public forum and having your online political sexiness reputation ruined for life.

I am going to mention Iraq, softly, almost in a whisper, because the fact of it is absolutely blaring.

We have now been in Iraq for five years, lost almost four thousand American lives – wounded almost thirty thousand Americans, if you don’t include the possible twenty thousand of those with undiagnosed brain injuries. (This from Dave at Wandering Ether, Another Casualty of War) , over one hundred thousand Iraqi lives lost, not to mention close to 5 million displaced Iraqi’s. One in five Iraqis displaced or refugees – agency.

The cost as of the second I write this – $9,767,837,801.

Faces of the Fallen.

Every year on this blog, until we are out of Iraq.

Kudos to Bob Dylan
