In an email, titled Shoot me Now My Party Has Been Taken Over by Loons, one of my more conservative friends sent me a link to the the oh my fucking gawd of the day. Christine d’Arc, Why Her Election is So Important, a piece de ~~resistance~~ absurdité at Red State. The post is introduced by a badly photo-shopped Christine O’Donnell — as a Joan of Arc. You can stop at the picture and be confident you know what the discombobulated post is about. Don’t stop. It’s too dumbfounding to miss.

Either way, I get anxious when I’m on a plane, sitting next to a middle aged white women who happens to be dressed in 15th century amour or a martyr suit. What about you?

Post Obamacarapocalypse

Late Sunday brings/brought:

A disturbing (via Jezebel, sorry), call for assassination, which if tweeted by a Muslim, or female, probably would have already resulted in an arrest of some kind.

And the wonderful news that Hugh Grant is supportive of Sandra Bullock during these trying times.

Late Sunday also brought health care to a crescendo — passing a behemoth full of compromises galore and benefits too little. A bill with no national health care or public option. Ugh.. I hope this turns out to be a mere stepping stone to national health care, and a much shorter piece of legislation. I hope it’s better than what came before. But hey I just got an email that says..

My jury is still out. I’m glad it passed, but I never liked kool-aid. I don’t think I’ve ever tasted it.

And how about that Cornell? Upon winning their way into the Sweet Sixteen they gave a few cursory chest thumps they just kind of stood around, and some people complained the players seemed to have had no idea how to celebrate. I say they just need a few lessons from their “almost an Ivy” brethren at Duke.

A Little Satire With You Self Righteousness

This is hilarious, and my initial reaction was that it was supposed to be funny. Then I saw where it came from and I knew it was unlikely to have been posted as a farce.

Earlier this evening, as most of you now know, one of our own, Rush Hudson Limbaugh, while taking withering fire, crashed and burned.

Tonight, Rush is no longer ‘just’ a radio personality.

Tonight, Rush is no longer ‘just’ a NFL owner denied

Tonight, Rush is us. And we are him.

Tonight Rush became the metaphor for all of us… every man woman and child in this great nation of ours.

The enemy of this great nation, the enemy of you and me, Rush’s enemy… those on the left, inside and outside of this nation abhor success… and when faced with it will destroy it… by any and all means possible.

And forgive us our satires (satirists).
As we forgive those who satire against us.

And by satirists I mean the site I first viewed this at, Wonkette, the site for picking up your daily dose of caricature, delicately derived from ridiculous self righteousness.
