I Just Don’t Know What To Do

I spent the weekend snowboarding and “Standing With Haiti” throughout MD to the PA line. Some places were collecting shoes, and some were collecting money. It was all good, though it appears Haitians need food, water, and tents more than anything right now, along with a few ~~cruise ships~~ boats to the USA.

Watched Twilight on Show, or tried to. The movie was as awful as the books were badly written. I was hoping the movie would be better somehow. It was not. More the fools we are for letting something like that become a pop culture phenomena. I think the future (what I assume is going to be), wolf guy is hot though.

I’m on a kind of a blogging vacation, a reversion actually, in which this place becomes more of a playground. Life progresses and with it my needs in and my purpose of blogging. As my real life develops more purpose my blogging has less, and I am back to the catharsis it started out as all those years ago.

Other Suggestions Haiti

I’m taking off for the weekend, meeting family somewhere south of here, maybe Puerto Rico. My father an architect and engineer, as some of you know, will be heading to Haiti within the next three weeks — not during the current situation but in a different stage — we’re having a bit of a family get together.

In the meantime, if you have nothing to think about and want to do something for Haiti, but don’t have money – or even if you have given, check out the following information offered up by sites from Wronging Rights and to Amnesty International to Change dot org. The suggestion is to contact the White House and tell them that you support granting Haitians Temporary Protected Status (TPS) immediately.

TPS is a temporary immigration status, lasting from 6 to 18 months and does not lead to permanent residency in the U.S., this step will only give Haitians the opportunity to remain safely in the U.S. until the situation on the ground in Haiti improves and they can return home.

It astounds me that within a short jaunt of what are vacation retreats for many, and second homes for some, there is a country with the infrastructure of a post apocalyptic movie. And that before the quake.

How is it that a country so close to the boats we cruise on, and the beaches we enjoy, can be a place of such absolute poverty in such never-ending social chaos?

The post earthquake devastation one way for the world to see the failure (some would say disproof of existence) of Pat Robertson’s god.

There are plenty of legitimate ways to donate, 5 bucks to Wycleff .

Or You can text “HAITI” to 90999 to donate $10 to American Red Cross relief for Haiti.
