I love my mouth and fear bacteria. Using the accessories inside the estuary to dislodge rubber corks is not routine practice. For that reason it might surprise you to find that I threw caution to the wind in SA. Unfortunately leaving custom behind resulted in a broken molar, a temp crown, some unexpected cuts to my gums, and sutures. All this unecesary and unfortunate according to my stateside dentist.

The story is more complicated, but the length of the tale tires and bores even me, so you will not have to suffer through it. Suffice to say that once home I went directly to my dentist, had sutures removed, listened to ews and ahs , had a new temporary crown made, had new sutures placed and so on and so forth. I was ” in the chair” 4 hours to repair the mess. I was sent home on antibiotics, Vicodin, prescription mouthwash, and a pill something to take for the yeast infection, a condition my dentist assured me would appear due to the dose and type of antibiotic.

Fearing loss of control more than pain the Vicodin remains untapped, Motrin and wine an apt substitute. The prescription mouthwash can permanently discolor teeth, according to the bottle, so I’ve yet to use that. Wine has disinfecting properties, right? Certainly gin does.

I’m home, resting, starving, and planning Thanksgiving by making reservations at a great Thai restaurant. I only hope I can actually eat.

Not much has changed in the short time I was away. More misplaced idolatry. Branding and money over truth and morality. I was not surprised to find Penn State’s situation similar to that of the Catholic church.

OH for goodness sake! Whoopi just went on a spiel telling Occupiers not to disrupt Macy’s parade because ”it’s for all people, people who have nothing, it’s for kids and it’s free“.

Nothing is free Whoopie, certainly not the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Peace

Funny isn’t it, how freedom rings. We slaughtered Indians in this land of the free — to make it our democracy. They slaughtered a tyrannical demagogue, a mass murderer who made political dissent reason for execution.

Is the barbarous murder of the leader of such a vile regime wrong? Murder is wrong, but there is so little outcry for the masses murdered by murdering tyrants worldwide that I barely have the energy to care about a murdered murderer who danced with many stars. It sickened me, but I’ll not judge. Libyans will deal with this barbaric act of retribution on their terms. I wish them the best.

Brutal conquistadors and despot dictators everywhere beware.

Funny isn’t it, how freedom rings.

And as we’ve seen before there are movies that no one should try to duplicate.

It’s’ blasphemy to redo the coming of age chic flick Dirty Dancing, the movie in which a privileged girl develops a political mindset different than the typical “gonna save folks in some poor country” mindset she started out with. A movie that allowed the girl to blatantly persue (sexually), her man of lesser social status, not only sleep with him, but to dance with him, flaunting it at the nobles.
