I like that I can hear the words better from the first lead vocal, than on the original Gotye version.
Ever since I’ve completely banned modern hard rock (90s over & over) from my listening I’ve become much happier, and optimistic.

I was once someone I used to know, but all good things come to an end.
Bitterness aside, I’m at least happy knowing people live happy doing their own thing. I’ve always been comfortable with leaving people a lone because I don’t like the idea of sucking them into my own misery. That’s why I try to maintain distance. I think of it as keeping people free of my poison.
Life always goes on, hopefully opening new doors when old ones close.
Thank you for being an ear, and a listener. I’ve appreciated your occasional attention more than I’ll ever be able to express. I never meant any harm, nor would I ever intrude. I’ve prided myself with leaving people a lone, with footprints that fade away.

Seems recent to already have a cover. That said, I give them credit for a unique video idea in a time when it seems increasingly more difficult to be.
