Have Read (Seen, Listened To, Will Miss), Friday

….Is Back

I’ve read (on Kindle) just today….

A good fast read. I recommend it as gift to friends and enemies.

I’ve seen a video in which Penn Ji fucking lette does a good job justifying his stint as a contestant on Celebrity Apprentice.

Then I remember that he used to star in a show called Bull Shit.

I’ve listened to Bert Jansch’s cover of
Angie, and Amy Winehouse’s cover of Will You Love Me Tomorrow, thanks to the various In Memoriam posts at Starmaker Machine.

Will You Love me Tomorrow.

I will miss 2011. It was good to me.The Year of Living Dangerously no obstructions. It didn’t get in my way. 2011 gave me what I wanted — no obstacles.

Peace

  1. Wow. Have Read (Seen, Listened To, Will Miss), Friday … is back! Cool. I am so diggin’ on Penn Gillete’s glasses. Mine are similar. A different color, though.

  2. Penn is convincing….I almost believe him.

I reed Steve Jobs, because someone else bought it and lent it to me. Worth the read too it you had any interest in him at all.

I saw The Artist and it is a very good film that not so many people have seen.

I’ll miss 2011 too but am looking forward to the future.

  3. Finishing up Martin’s “A Clash of Kings” — enjoying it very much (HBO did an outstanding job with Game of Thrones” – looking forward to this one too). Looking forward to season 2 of Downton Abbey. In love with this fabulous piece. Missing my spousal unit; only a couple more months and she’ll be moving this direction.

    • I got to see the season premier of Downton Abbey last night, at least I think it was the premiere..I never catch thing the first time, but yeah me. I caught the whole season in one 24 hour period in December. I had watched some during the season but was unable to keep up do to being away and so forth.

  5. The only thing I’ve been reading is the job boards and the apartment leasing ads.

Penn is very intelligent, but you are right, that is a bit of a stretch.

I saw the first season of Modern Family on video before I left…not bad, never watched it before. I liked it.

  6. Penn Jillette is still a part of that show (as far as I know) that usually only runs 10 to 12 episodes in the summer.
He is a good entertainer like Bill Maher but when you careful scrutinize all of their opinions you realize their comedic flare has to make absolutes that cannot realistically be made.

Much like politics I consider anything in show business for the sake of publicity. They know having people talk about them (good or bad) keeps their career a live. Example: Donald Trump – Pretend billionaire who claims to be good with business but really only good at selling that idea.

    • I think is fairly brilliant in some ways but he did go to school with my mother in a small town in new england and I can only take her word for it.

You haven’t posted anything in a long time Bennet,,,,,,,

      • Oh no, I agree. I also believe he is quite brilliant, intelligent, and often very entertaining. I simply disagree that Celebrity Apprentice has any relevant significance. Perhaps he simply needs his face on network primetime again for a wider audience boost.
I’ve been of fan of Penn & Teller since the late 80s when they were on Letterman when Letterman was actually cool. I wanted to be a magician, practiced a few slight of hand tricks I can still do.
I posted after I read this the other day, but it didn’t show up since it was after I commented here.
