I possess the significant cowardice that slants one toward agnosticism and away from atheism, but I am not a believer, though I do love the music. I also kind of love Ricky Gervais, but for the life of me I can’t understand why The Wall Street Journal thinks I care about his belief, or lack there-of — even in the Speak Easy. A Holiday Message from Ricky Gervais: Why I’m An Atheist

I purchased Kindle’s and Tilley Hats for everyone. Now I can simply drink and eat my way through the New Year.
Go check out one of my favorite Christmas Songs, John Prines, Christmas in Prison.
You will find nothing of significance here until 2011. That is unless God shows up and dances on the Devil’s head.

Too many interesting events and experiences in my life not to believe in something … higher. Regardless, I try to be a good person, and hope that good ultimately triumphs over evil.
I’m kind of in love with the Norwegian Sissel, which is OK, my Swedish wife loves her too.
Sissel is pretty awesome Rich, thanks for that link,
I have worn a Tilley hat surfing, and those things are great protection from the sun, and they don’t come off.
My father has a few, so I have so far taken his and not purchased my own.Whenever I go home I look for an abandoned Tilley.
I’m like you, but I’ve seen too many weird things, which could be dreams but could be angles or aliens…I’m just not ready to totally discard the possibility deity of some kind.
Love john prine.

Woa….gster I’ve never seen Aliens…well except you that is.
;)
Nice choice. Prine’s always fun.
Merry Christmas Doug and dogs. You are missed.
I hope you are surviving the weather out there.
Merry Christmas Alice dear!

Thank you, and same to you.
Tilleys are great sun protection. That is some magnificent dog.
I love Gervais too, the original The Office was great and Extras is pretty good too, but yea, how is his opinion significant in this regard? Got me.
Have a great week of Holiday fun, 2011 will soon be here and then…….

Yea, living in Australia Tilley’s became a way of life, and they do block the sun.
Holiday wishes to you and your family Jacob.
I love that dog and his Tilley.
I used to find Ricky Gervais repugnant, I like him now , but I’m with you, I don’t really care about his opinions on anything. Just be funny man, that is what you do.
John Prine is not nearly famous enough.
I don’t much believe but I love the lights, the parties and the food. It’s when we schedule the yearly meetings with family in order to realize they either suck or aren’t that bad.

not nearly famous enough it right.
I learn so much here — for instance, what a tilley is.
And I didn’t make it up for the eclipse. Maybe if I’d been off work the next day. I used to stay up for stuff like that — particularly remember a 3 AM date with the Perseids a few years ago — back in my younger days.

You would enjoy a good Tilley Bone.
I love the song. Can picture Tilley hats. Never wore or bought one
Merry Christmas Cooper
Thank you Pia. A Tilley would serve you well down there, and they last forever.
Tilley hats are amazing! Great present idea!
Have a happy christmas, Cooper! x

They are amazing. Thank yo Risha.
His opinion is as significant as the opinion of anyone, meaning it’s difficult to justify it for a place in the WSJ.
Then again they say the WSJ has taken a turn for the worse…
I wish I was on your gift list.
Happy Christmas to you cooper.

I wish I was on my gift list too.
All I know is that people aren’t as stupid as most media sources often portrays us. That goes for both left, right, or whatever you consider yourself. When we allow other people to think for us, and poorly attempt to represent us publicly conflict is certain.
I wish you safe, and pleasant holiday seasonal festivities. Enjoy the food, relatives dressed up, and a plate full of assorted stuffing mysteries.
NEVER save stuffing made with eggplant, or mushroom. It doesn’t store well.

I hope people are smarter than I think they are.
I actually will see some relative this year, but my relatives are not usually around they are spread so far, and I never store food, though stuffing made with eggplant sound delicious and after a long afternoon “work party” at a local watering hole, I’m actually starving.
Merry Christmas Bennett.
I like that hat! It’s very “sage-like.” How can I get on your Christmas list? Enjoy the holidays!
It takes years to get on my holiday list, it’s pretty short. ;)
Thank you sage, enjoy the rest of the holiday season.
Merry Christmas Cooper.
Love that hat and that doggy picture was a great find.

Same Kait, happy new year to you.
Merry Christmas slightly belated to you. A Tilley I’ve never had but I’ve seen them.
Ricky Gervais’s opinons matter not at all to me but I suppose it’s better than Justin Beiber’s. ;)
john recently posted..Net Neutrality Nightmare
I lived in a country where my parents insisted we wear hats that protect us from the sun and my parents routinely wore Tilleys as well. They are also great for surfing, as g mentioned.
belated holiday wishes to you as well.
Happy Boxing Day, Cooper. Sorry I showed up a day late.
I don’t particularly care what Ricky Gervais has to say on any topic, but that’s beside the point. He’s a comedian. The significance of what he has to say has nothing to do with who he is. It’s about how he presents it. And he did a good job, especially with the follow-up. I’d have printed what he wrote no matter whose name was on it
Also, an atheist who’s been told numerous times that agnosticism is a more logical proposition than atheism, his line about the African Elephant was well-received.

Yes, always late, though I’m not doing much better, and at my own blog yet. ;)
Agnosticism is not more logical, it is merely safer, a cop out of sorts, and so I take it.
Wishes for an awesome new year to you Wombat.
Peace to you Cooper,
Thanks for your posts, they’ve made 2010 a richer year!
All the best,
Billy

Same to you all around Billy. I add so few blogs to read each year, lucky for me one was yours.
Late holiday wishes to you cooper. I love Gervais, it’s the Wall Street Journal I’ve found disappointing over the last year. ;)
Tilley hats are the saving grace for people in my field. You are a good gift giver.
John Prine is still touring after all these years. In a small sense.
My parents saw John Prine at the Warner theater in D.C. when they were here visiting college friends….in the I guess late seventies…weird I know.
thanks joe, enjoy the season.
Happy New Year, Coop.
And to you. I miss you.
