Acrobatics are amazing, and being covered in meat is impressive, but there is something to be said for having a classically trained voice, and an undamaged brain. A brain in which a light bulb went off when, at a club she often performed at in NYC, having no time to change out of a vampire costume, Pat Benatar performed in the black tights, black eyeliner and a short black top she had worn earlier in the evening at a Greenwich Village Halloween party. The consequence, inexplicable or not, was that her “usual” performance was met with huge accolades (standing ovation), from the crowd. Voila….
It’s a Pat Benatar kind of night in wonderland or not.
The drummer in the older videos is pretty radical, and the guy playing any manner of guitar on her right (our left), is Niel Giraldo, her husband since 1982, when she gently disposed of her original husband (and namesake), for one of those rare and successful “love of each other lives” couplings.

I like the newer acoustic versions quite a bit.
Fire and Ice, Early version.
We Live For Love, Original Version.
We Live For Love, recent acoustic version. The video sucks but the song is pretty spectacular.
Battlefield acoustic recent version.
We Belong, recent acoustic.

There can’t be a better hallowe’en theme than my adolescence. You win.

I like to win, so that’s good news.
Love those old videos, I was only about 6 when she was hot, but I remember her videos. The acoustic stuff they currently engage in is very good.
gotta love love

I’d never seen most of those videos until recently when someone told me my father looked liked Neil Giraldo.
That second video is worth sitting through that awful commercial.
She has a good voice and she was quite hot to look at, she’s aged well.
Quite a partnership she and Giraldo have.

ea I didn’t realize it was an Ehrlich commercial lol
Being the fortunate recipient of ‘one of those rare and successful “love of each other lives” couplings’ myself, I offer a hearty ‘amen’ to this post. Have always enjoyed Pat’s music too.
That awesome Rich.
“when she gently disposed of her original husband (and name sake), for one of those rare and successful “love of each other lives” couplings.”
We should all be so lucky.
The second video is worth sitting through the commercial.

According to you and many others the second video seems popular.
You know I like black clothing.
Nice videos. I like the acoustic better. Maybe.
He’s aged pretty well too.

She was kind of hot that’s for sure, but I feel kind of weird talking that way about someone who is old enough to be my mother ..almost old enough.
The unplugged stuff is good though.
Not quite old enough to be my mother and, her voice is still good, not ravaged by cigarettes and booze.
Not that that is bad. I sometimes like booze ravaged voices but Benatar still has it.
Is that one of those couplings where after several years together they start to look alike?
Your wide span musical interests rarely fails to impress.
