I stopped dead in my scrolling tracks when, while perusing my feed-reader, I saw an article titled Elena Kagan v. Sonia Sotomayor: Who Wore It Better? I kid you not. An article on whether Sonia or Elena wore the blue jacket black shirt ensemble with more panache. I was appalled. How dare they treat women like this. There was even a poll for readers to vote. Again, I kid you not.
Disgusted, I chose future justice Kagan simply because she accessorized better. Make no mistake, accessories count when you’re handing over this country to the likes of Verizon, Pfizer, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Bank of America.
I’m similarly astounded that people are writing about being appalled, and it’s getting more coverage than say…. the depression we are surely heading into, and that pesky oil leak
But never mind that. What do you think? For the weekend warrior look, who do you feel here? Roberts with the open neck no undershirt, blazer and khakis, or Thomas with the khakis, logo shirt and undershirt peaking through?
Who really looks like a Supreme Court justice on a weekend sabbatical?

A man wearing a logo always has my heart, but I lean left.
You can make a point and still make me laugh..I know we’d be together were I not gay. Maybe in our next life.
The accessory did it. You’re right.

Ben, I thought a logo meant a no go?
Oh, wait, that was in high school. ;)
Actually, I’m sure the poll is a ruse to lead us away from the truth that both women are involved in a democratic conspiracy to take over the court. Their identical blue jackets are a signal to liberals everywhere not to worry.
It’s good that you voted; no need to alert the wrong people that something is going on.
;)

Seems a lot of polls these days are leading us aways from reality.
I don’t find pleated trousers attractive on men over 30, so neither one satisfies me. ;)
A tricky way to make people think you were posting about fashion. I should have known that if anything would horrify you it woudl be posting about fashion.

hey,
I’ve never felt sillier than when I’ve posted about fashion, except when I post about my mother purchasing me twin-sets.
Well, I sympathize, but if you don’t want to be confronted with stupidity, you need to stay within the castle court, probably.

They kicked me out of court when I left for college.
That color blue looks similar to the color of the shirt I had to wear when I worked at Best Buy in high school. Oh, the memories.
Yea, media gets bored with real news very easily. I am surprised they hung in here with the gulf oil spill as long as they did.

I remember that shirt covered in blood in the emergency room – after you totaled your car on the way to best but in 12th grade.
I’ve been too distracted with weird stuff like this to bother with mainstream non-news. And I used to think dogs getting into the trash was annoying.
that is certainly distracting…and weird.lol
The courts recent decisions are frightening not merely disappointing, and the blue jacket doesn’t allay those fears for the future.
An interesting discussion here

I know. I always feel better when the jackets are black.
And I thought her being accused of liking uh following uh whatever Thurgood Marshall was the high point of the hearing
Love this sentence Make no mistake, accessories count when you’re handing over this country to the likes of Verizon, Pfizer, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Bank of America.
true sentence…
To find the blue jacket comparisons given equal time as Wall Street reform shakes me up some. ;)

Tiger’s demise shakes you up more though right?
I don’t know.
For some reason I can easliy imagine a Seasume Street Muppet like Grover running behind them back and forth to each photo image. Grover could even hug Elena Kagan , and tell the Judiciary Committee ” I think Ms Kagn could do a very very bery good job, I love Kagan”
If Grover loves Kagan then the Judiciary Committee would have to. They understand Grover.

Wise in front of your years.
It’s not really a whole lot dumber than the hearings themselves. I had thought without seeing a side-by-side of them that Kagan reminded me a bit of Sotomayor when she was up there. ::shrugs:: It’s weird in the same vein as how in the on-screen appearance of Lando Calrissian in Empire Strikes Back, he’s wearing Han’s clothes. That I was even thinking about it goes to show just how little else there was to think about.
I guess what I’m saying is: What else is there to talk about? I’d like to hear what Kagan has to say about non-enumerated rights. Actually, I’d happily trade the entire three-day affair for a one-hour talk about the ninth amendment. I can dream, can’t I?

Exactly, that’s why I’m talking about it in this purely catharticolytic container called a blog.
