It’s time once more for Have Read (Seen, Listened To, Will Miss), Friday.
Please feel free to play along.
On your blog or in a song.
In the comments that’s fine too,
whatever the hell you want to do.
Despite Chelsea Handler’s literary masterpieces — Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang, Are You There Vodka It’s Me Chelsea, and My Horizontal Life — all being on the NYT Bestseller list this week, none of those fine works are a “have read” for me on this Have Read (Seen, Listened To, Will Miss), Friday.
Instead, I have read, for the first time (from the great admirer of Anglo-Saxonism, H.P, Lovecraft), The Dunwich Horror and The Thing on the Doorstep, both on line in this nifty little collection. I’ve read Laura Bush’s book, but only as a toilet read. It’s not a have read yet. I also read a very long email attachment from a friend, more like a dissertation really. Actually it was her dissertation, she tricked me.
I have seen, Iron Man. I finally gave in, for my love of RDJ. It was not a go againer, but it was worth it just to see Mickey Rourke’s spectacularly silver filled mouth.
I have finally listened to Nobody’s Daughter, seriously folks it isn’t that bad. Disappointingly of course it is no different than what Hole has ever done , but it certainly isn’t horrible.
Also listened to Interpol’s, Lights.

Last but not least I will miss being the age I am, because on Monday I’ll be a different age.
Peace

I’m liking these Friday things already, inventive. We saw Iron Man Two, too. I know what you mean about those teeth, almost made me want some.
Where has the time gone. It was only yesterday you were a precocious 17 year old pretending to be an 18 year old talking dirty politics and Pixies from a college dorm room.
Happy pre birthday to you cooper.
You flatter me so, Joe.
That could be a song, but you’re right it’s been a long time. Who knew when I fled Dead Journal to get away from boyfriend talk, and complain about the Pope in private, that it would last this long.
I love these things. I really want to start this on my blog too..I may, in which case I will (of course) credit you/link to yours.
Have read: Still for my thesis, “Weapons of Mass Deception: The Uses of Propaganda in Bush’s War on Iraq” by Sheldon Rampton and John Stauber.
Seen: Teimuraz Gabahvilli def. Andy Roddick.
Listened to: Two new Arcade Fire songs and an Arcade Fire interview on NPR’s All Songs Considered.
Will miss: Several parties this week as I try finish my thesis, get working on a campaign and generally try to sort my head out in between tennis matches.
p.s: Iron Man 2? Yeah. Only my love of RDJ would make me watch that. Only him. And Mickey. Maybe.

Oh it’s meant to pass along, it has a little more leeway than most memes. lol
Ew I like Arcade Fire though it’s been awhile since I actually listened to them.
Save your energy for Nadal

Your Birthday is a holiday!!
.-= Chris´s last blog ..War, More War, Thank God for Glorious War! =-.
always, but this year specially
That you are a Lovecraft fan only reinforces my bloggy crush on you dear Cooper. The Cats of Ulthar is my favorite to read aloud. I’ve got about 100 people coming over Monday for a BBQ. Hope someone on your side of the country is throwing a party for you…
I shall read it aloud tonight, a good ole fairly tale for the guests, accompanied by a glass of wine…awesome idea.
I like this idea too. The poem rocks.
I admit to liking Handler, can I admit that here?
I’ve not read much Lovecraft, for that site, I might change that.
happy pre birthday to you
.-= g´s last blog ..Birthright =-.
I don’t dislike her her at all, but couldn’t conceive of paying for her books, though if free I’d probably browse them.
Vintage cooper.
Now that you’re old enough to have vintage attached to your name, revel in it. Oh, right, you aren’t that old at all, you just have always been an old young person.
I didn’t know Love had a new album out, damn.
I’ve never been one for horror or sci-fi or anything that makes me question my stable little world.
Happy Birthday
I am a fan of the deranged, the unreal, the horror and the unexplained.
I figured anybody plugged in Kroger’s so much (Handler) can’t be good or is a Christian writer–my town. But now they have Stieg Larsson (who I really did begin reading before he was famous because I like Scandinavian mysteries) and I wondered if I should begin reading her. Thanks for the info
And yes Monday you’ll be so past legal–I’d say I can’t believe but finally your age and your maturity are beginning to mesh
For free like I aid is the only way to read her. I’ve read none of her stuff and you certainly don’t want to. Not meaning to sound like your mother despite my advancing age.
Happy Early birthday. I think you can stop lying about your age because you feel the need to be older now. ;)
I love me some Chelsea Handler, but I am also big fan of Lovecraft, so if I had a choice I’d take Lovecraft stories.
I gave in an am reading “Blink” this weekend, and something Matt gave me by Deepak Chopra.
.-= ben´s last blog ..RIP Dennis Hopper =-.
Ben it’s a relief to know that you’d take Lovecraft over Handler..lol
I can’t see Matt reading Chopra, but Italy does things to people I hear.
Now, where did I put that Beatle’s youtube, you old thing you.
Teener was in Boston last week… his mother thought it was a good idea to let him spend time in used bookstores. Now I’ve got a request to build an extension onto the bookcase. Won’t be doing much reading this week. But I might have time to watch The Sands of Iwo Jima again. Or Band of Brothers.
.-= sauerkraut´s last blog ..Bite Your Ass Friday: unfiltered =-.
Used book stores are do grand if dusty sometimes, depending. We still have a wonderbook and video here, and there are a couple of downtown d.c. bookstores that fit that bill for me as well. Estate sales are also a treasure troves at times.
I listened to a classic Casey Kasem top 40 countdown last night, from 1981. It was a little before my music listening prime. I had no idea Phil Collins even had songs on the charts before “You Can’t Hurry Love.” There was a Kenny Rogers & Dottie West song on there, too. And Juice Newton’s “Angel Of The Morning.” And groups named Champaign and the Climax Blues Band.
Happy early birthday, Miss Cooper.
.-= Bone´s last blog ..Feeding the fever =-.
In The Air Tonight Bone, In he Air Tonight…..
I’ve seen:,The NCAA Lacrosse semifinal at Ravens’ Stadium, looking forward to the women’s this evening at Towson (skipped the d3 final it’s too hot).
Will miss – Lacrosse season.
Listened to – My girlfried singing Kelly Clarkson’s ” Since You’ve Been Gone”, in the shower.
Have read, The Baltimore Sun. Limited I know. It’s a hrorible paper.
Happy birthday.
.-= casey´s last blog ..Duke over VA =-.
Aw you are so good casey,,,,,go Notre Dame is all I can say…the incestuous nature to the lacrosse beast has got to change…lol
Cheers to a new age! I miss author David Gemmell, who had just reached his peak with heroic fantasy with his retailing of the story of Troy only to die before finishing the last installment, his wife and editor finished his work from notes.
