I Just Don’t Know What To Do

January 26th, 2010 by cooper

I spent the weekend snowboarding and “Standing With Haiti” throughout MD to the PA line. Some places were collecting shoes, and some were collecting money. It was all good, though it appears Haitians need food, water, and tents more than anything right now, along with a few cruise ships boats to the USA.

Watched Twilight on Show, or tried to. The movie was as awful as the books were badly written. I was hoping the movie would be better somehow. It was not. More the fools we are for letting something like that become a pop culture phenomena. I think the future (what I assume is going to be), wolf guy is hot though.

I’m on a kind of a blogging vacation, a reversion actually, in which this place becomes more of a playground. Life progresses and with it my needs in and my purpose of blogging. As my real life develops more purpose my blogging has less, and I am back to the catharsis it started out as all those years ago.

Don’t forget to check out my latest Compulsions, posting as many versions as possible of the old Bacharach /David song I Just Don’t Know What To Do With Myself. I’m on my 5TH version, scroll back through to check them out, and if you have a favorite let me know. I’ll try to dig it up. It’s not titled compulsions for nothing.

Peace

I am fond of this Chris Farlowe version below, enjoy.

Does this mean you’ll answer questions like
“Is Bristol Palin a Good Spokeswoman for Abstinence?” in a snarky instead of professional way ;)

Love the Farlowe version — it’s a fun compulsion.

I’m all for blogs as catharsis. Often I want to write in mine but I’m seeing how much mental time it took even when it didn’t feel important to me

    Glad you went snowboarding

Becoming something sometimes means going back.

It’s easier to have fun with it all.

I liked the White Stripes version you posted, and this one as well. I think the Dusty Springfield version is considered the standard even though she was not the original.

The only thing about the tumblr is that there are no comments.

There are enough ways to help Haiti, that is for sure.

Springfield’s is grand the one I just posted from MBFW isn’t bad either. Nicky Holland. I like Costello’s version. Hell I like them all — obviously.

The last thing Haiti needs is an invasion of sewage spewing American cruise ships.

But Kait’s comment, above, is a great lead-in to the comments section. Hell, heard the yabbering yaboobs of The View were going at it today on that very subject.

Maybe gramma palin can send some supplies to Haiti with all that money she’s been raking in lately. Bristol can deliver it personally since she’s sworn off her personal life.

      You watch the view???

lol I am shocked. I can see you screaming at them.

John had it right I meant (b)oats to take the people away from Haiti, that is actually what they need.

      • sauerkrautNo Gravatar says:

No way would I watch The View!! I just heard what happened on there!

Ohhh… and you would use “oats” to take people from Haiti?? Well… that would give the hungry something to eat. IDK what taking them away from home would do but sending them food sounds like the thing to do at this point!

        8-)

I think she meant boats to take Haitians off the islands temporarily at least to the united states or other wears, sarcastic maybe but has been suggested that would be the best thing to do.

    White Stripes for me.

I kind of love the song. I find new songs to love all the time though. I can’t say I had heard that song very often prior to my compulsion.

I like the lighter more inane stuff. We did a bar fundraiser — I participated even though I no longer work there.

They need to be shipped out is right. That place is a mess.

I had no idea there were so many versions of that song. Love it. Keep going it will be interesting to see where you end.

I like how you fit the watching of Twilight and your life developing more purpose into the same post. Consecutive paragraphs, even :)

I should really have some Elvis Costello music on my iTunes.

My excuse is it was after 1 in the morning, and I actually didn’t watch the whole thing.

It’s hard to dig canals between paragraphs on the blog.

you keep saying that about Costello.…JUST DO IT

Gary Puckett isn’t half bad there cooper. Love the compulsions.

    Farlowe is good,

Whatever you do it’s fine with me. Write about this, that or nothing, it works.

    Unless you stop caring.

    “Imperial Bedroom”

    and go from there.

he even did a good version of “Good year For Roses”

Yes Cooper, “life progresses”. Blogging is not the most important thing in life. It is for when we have something to say and the time to do it. I’m a wintertime sit on my ass so I go at it.

Maby I should be digging my old skis out and see if aging bones are still good bones.
