This isn’t a pleasant thing to read after drinking a liter of an almost sweet red wine. A wine the wine-seller convinced us was meant to taste good with chocolate.
The Bart Stupak (D-Mich.) amendment to the House health bill, which would bar federal funding for most abortions, has passed on a vote of 240 – 194. Democrats split 64 – 192 against the amendment, but 176 Republicans voted in favor of it while none opposed it and Jon Shadegg of Arizona voted present.
As if my head wasn’t about to explode already.
Now we can safely say that those without will remain without, because you know damn well Congressmen Stupak that your children, or your Republican friends children, can pay cash for those abortions, or have private insurance cover it, and that will allow them to continue their education, to assure they will take their rightful place in society.
This kind of amendment does nothing but punish those who don’t have the money to pay for their mistakes.
So this is what it has come to.
It’s disgraceful that this sham passed.
By the way, Congress passed that joke of a health care bill. Unfortunately the bill sucks balls. And you know that sucking balls is not something on my A list.

At least it can’t get you pregnant, either.

good point.
It’s dificult for me to relate to this but I understand what you’re saying. You seem to have been in fine form last night.
too much chocolate
Not enough wine.
* giggles *
I’m alright with it passing in it’s current mode. A work in progress. I’m not saying it doesn’t suck balls but not passing it would have sucked more balls.
There are some wines that work well with chocolate I hear.

So, they say it really doesn’t work for me though strawberries and chocolate work well
After all these years… as in this process started before I was born… why can’t these moronic legislators get something done and done correctly?
I thought for sure you’d know the answer to that one.
I’m blond. What do I know?
Being married to a Swede, and having the perspective of how rational health care can and does work in the rest of the civilized world, this whole debate drives me crazy. Thanks for at least appending your post with some sane music!
ha, the sanest thing is the music.
I was at a winery Saturday where they sold chocolate you put in wine. Didn’t really get it
As I don’t really get why members of Congress don’t believe that since we spend 16% of the GDP on health care we can’t have quality health care for everybody
But living here I’m learning a lot of people believe the earth is flat so.….

Yea, I think is pure laziness, believing all kinds of ridiculous things.
The chocolate goes well with certain wines, I don’t like sweet wines but it’s popular they tell me to serve all manner of chocolate with these wines when you entertain.
What’s lost in this whole stupid debate is Republicans gladly accept money from insurance companies that pay for abortions!
This is entirely what it boils down to and you are absolutely right Cooper. Those who can afford an abortion, or have medical insurance will still be able to receive one. Those who can’t, the poor, will be left with nothing. We can argue the affects of abortion all day long, but life doesn’t stop at birth. And damn those who try to perceive themselves as the moral provider when really they just want to punish women for having sex. Damn them all.

Right, that has always been the issue. Those with money have the choice, whether they are Republican or Democrat.
It’s hard to know what to say. Hardly worth saying anything these days.
I love the REO Speedwagon at compulsions, my mother played them all the time, it’s a nostalgia trip.
I liked the radio performance.
I’m just glad I live in a country where everybody has health care automatically, without having to pay for it.
Paying just gets you treated faster here — unless you have something life threatening wrong, in which case you go to the front of every queue.

It’s a shame that the issues we should care about the most are the ones that receive the least attention by everyone else. It happens to me a lot.
