This is hilarious, and my initial reaction was that it was supposed to be funny. Then I saw where it came from and I knew it was unlikely to have been posted as a farce.

Earlier this evening, as most of you now know, one of our own, Rush Hudson Limbaugh, while taking withering fire, crashed and burned.
Tonight, Rush is no longer ‘just’ a radio personality.
Tonight, Rush is no longer ‘just’ a NFL owner denied
Tonight, Rush is us. And we are him.
Tonight Rush became the metaphor for all of us… every man woman and child in this great nation of ours.
The enemy of this great nation, the enemy of you and me, Rush’s enemy… those on the left, inside and outside of this nation abhor success… and when faced with it will destroy it… by any and all means possible.
And forgive us our satires (satirists).
As we forgive those who satire against us.
And by satirists I mean the site I first viewed this at, Wonkette, the site for picking up your daily dose of caricature, delicately derived from ridiculous self righteousness.

I’m always amazed how some people can turn someone’s mistakes or mere stumbles as a rally cry that that someone is being persecuted unjustly. It makes all those people who are actually being treated unfairly harder to single out.

Reading the comments is jarring. I don’t know where that kind of hatred comes from. I think we’ve all had cause in our life to make us bitter, but I can’t fathom what is behind that level of animosity.
