Let’s Cuddle Up On Old School Friday

It’s Old School Friday. The theme is Let’s Cuddle Up.

I don’t imagine it’s a big surprise, but I am not predisposed to cuddling, or enamored by sitting or lying still, no matter who I might be with. In my quiet moments I prefer to read, not cuddle. After sex I don’t want to cuddle, I’m exhausted, I want to sleep.

This makes it all the more difficult to choose Old School cuddle worthy songs, but here’s some old school stuff from my computer stash. They work for me.

In The Arms of Sleep, Smashing Pumpkins.
In The Arms Of Sleep
Love Song, The Cure.
Love Song
Lalena, Deep Purple’s version of the Donovan Leitch tune.
Lalena, Deep Purple

If you prefer Donovan to Deep Purple, and he looks good enough to eat here, click the here. I think this must have been in his pre-Sunshine Superman days.

Another Donovan cuddle song, for those of you who can’t live without the You Tube. Donovan, looking almost too young for me, singing Catch the Wind. There are other more “I am a peace loving hippie, probably on acid, but for sure stoned” performances, if you prefer those, so look around. Ah…if he weren’t actually almost what….. 70?

What’s your old school cuddle song.

  1. Believe it or not, I’ve always been a big fan of the early Mariah stuff to cuddle. First with Tara and Breanne, and then even with DeAnn, there’s always been something to songs like “Always Be My Baby” that’s just like cute all over. LOL

  2. Yeah. I’m pretty sure I don’t have a cuddle song. Gatorade’s the drink, though.

  3. No shock.

Donovan will always exemplify adorable to me. I have a friend, straight male, who has had a lifelong thing for him

Had a boyfriend who always wanted to listen to Tom Waits after. Try sleeping to him

    Lucky you. ;0

Deep Purple, interesting choice. Love the Cure. Donovan is kind of cute.

Have an awesome weekend – Labor Day. ugh.

  5. Don’t think I have a cuddle song. It’s possible I have a cuddle movie.

Considering your ex-boyfriends (Rove, Maher), I can see why you don’t like to cuddle ;)

  6. I love “Love Song” by the Cure. “Friday I’m in Love” is good too – not sure if it’s a good cuddle song however.

My last boyfriend was a big fan of grunge music, so we didn’t really listen to much during cuddle time lol.

  7. The Cure’s Love Song; one of my old favs.

As for the cuddle, or not to cuddle personally I don’t think I could make such an absolute rigid affirmation under such speculative intimacy.
Maybe I would, maybe I wouldn’t most of the time. I don’t know. Would depend on the circumstances which I never go into assuming how something should be done according to my self proclaimed affirmation.

This reminds me of republican ideology which also sounds good in theory, but worthless in the practical sense.
    But, which ever works.

  8. The only Deep Purple I know is Smoke on The Water – not a cuddle song. I liked Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, I don’t care what anyone says. I don’t get why women find Donavon attractive.

I can think of relaxing songs, either acoustic or piano concertos, but not cuddle songs. I’ll have to think on this.

    • Relaxing songs I can think of my the boat load, but everyone has a different type of relaxation genre they listen too.

It’s the word cuddle that throws me.

  9. I like the Smashing Pumpkin song. You can guess my snuggle up songs are lullabies these days.

The Harper’s piece above was entertaining. Thanks.

  10. I can cuddle to Smashing Pumpkins. With my Dog.

Donovan…eh he’s alright, not my type, but he does have that fluffy soft look some females love.

That Deep Purple version just sounds weird to me.

  11. I went a different way, I can’t see the Smashing Pumpkins as being a cuddle song.

  12. After sex I don’t want to cuddle, I’m exhausted, I want to sleep.

Now that’s what I’m talking about…who wants to cuddle? That means job not done…

    Happy OSF!!

  13. “That means job not done…”

    exactly

  14. I don’t recall cuddling to music very often at all. If I’m at home, ESPN is usually on in the background. Sometimes I can get too distracted by a particular highlight though, so I have to turn the volume down.

My favorite Cure song is “Just Like Heaven.”
