Who’ll Stop The Rain on Old School Friday

June 5th, 2009 by cooper

Welcome to Old School Friday. The theme of the week is “current mood”.

Nothing to discuss here. What can I say, it’s been raining for a week.

And because this is the end of a short day, in a long week, of what has been an endless month full of bothersome assholes, I give you the quintessential fuck you song. Is there anyone who has not been in the mood to sing this to someone, or everyone, at some time or another.

OSF sponsored by Conversations With Marva and Mrs Grapevine

The players:

Electronic Village | Kim | Kevin — A Slant Truth | Marcus LANGFORD | iriegal | John | CC Groovy | Kreative Talk | Regina | Vivrant Thing | AJ | Beleiver 1964 | SJP | BklynQueen 86 | Hey Shae | Malcolm

I spent a couple hours this morning setting up some site for a city wide art festival.I was so upset as it looked like rain again but alas it cleared up more or less. I hope you enjoy your weekend jacob.

ah the old school friday break
Mine would be “I’m So Tried” I left work at 12:30 just to get some sleep. Crazy I know. Who goes to sleep at 1 in the morning?

I listened to that song for years before I realized how insidiously mean it is. Especially the final lines.

Good choices. It is sort of amazing how much CCR songs sound like other CCR songs. As big a fan as I am, CCR is kind of the new world’s The Kinks. Dylan’s hep, though.

I hear you on the rain thing, and Dylan’s words are are perfect bite, that song is timeless, it will always work.

This is off-topic but thought you’d be interested in it. According to MediaLizzy, the “left” and the “liberals” (both terms undefined and overbroad) aren’t doing enough re rape. Feel free to moderate.

I saw a piece on Huff Po about it, unfortunately the comments on this at Hot Air, some of which have been removed now, as well as some of the other sites I sifted through, are almost just as disgusting. I stopped reading about it at the more conservative sties because of that.. As for Playboy…I’ve always found it a disgusting piece of work masquerading as art and literature, and it is the attention paid to it at all that is most disturbing to me.

I have never heard of the author, don’t read AOL anything or much in the way of political blogs, I read more policy blogs these days, except as flick through on my reader, so I miss most of this, but Playboy did take it down and as I can’t find the original article by the fired author anywhere as yet I can’t say much, I’d have to see it in order to make any kind of post.

That having been said Lizzy has a very good point, women tend to keep to their own groups, feminists are no exception, much to the detriment of women in general, as there are many instances where one can cast some ideological differences aside and work for the better good of women, liberal women are not very good at doing this.

The rain is gone but it’s coming back, enjoy what’s left of the weekend.
Positively 4th street is a great song, great enough to piss myself off at anyone just to sing it.

Great songs. I had a crappy Friday. I thought maybe it was the full moon, but turns out that wasn’t until Sunday. Chalk it all up to my unintentional quest to become more in tune with the lunar phases.

    Good songs.
I don’t want you to become paralyzed, when I say good luck I mean it.

I had a great weekend. Busted a blood vessel in my eye, I became paranoid reading the web for info thinking I had glaucoma.

Fifty bucks to eye doctor confirms, it is only a broken blood vessel.
A fool, and his money. Me being the fool.

Sometimes I feel like both parts of “Positively Fourth Street.” I think all CCR songs sounding alike is part of their charm – you only need one song or one CD
I have only unpacked about ten of my CD’s so I look forward to “old school Friday” even if I listen on Tuesday
