Everybody Knows It’s Old School Friday

The Old School Friday theme this week is “This One Is Dedicated To”…

It’s almost impossible for me to think of anything for this. Not that I couldn’t dedicate songs to a number of people but I usually don’t go there and I’m not going to this time, at least not really.

Not technically old school, it will be one day. I dedicate this song to anyone whoever told me to “Hold My My Own, Know My Name and Go My own Way”. You know who you are, and though it is unlikely you read this blog, because you are either deceased or oblivious to such triviality, this debt I can never repay, and I thank you.

Details in the Fabric/ Jason Mraz with James Morrison

This link below will lead you to a performance of this in Glasgow with Toca Rivera vocal accompaniment.

This is dedicated to Everybody because everybody knows, and if they don’t they should.
Concrete Blond’s version of Leonard Cohen’s ‘Everybody Knows”.

17 Thoughts on “Everybody Knows It’s Old School Friday

  1. Two good songs. And I’m notorious for dedicating songs to people. It’s usually done when I’m singing karaoke, but still.

  3. Nice picks, always a hook to your themed posts. Concrete Blond does a good job with that for sure.

  5. I habitually look to see what you’ve posted for Old School Friday now. I like the words to Details and no one can beat Cohen, but concrete blond’s version is good. I’ve never heard it before now. I should spend more time on you tube.

“you are either deceased or oblivious to such triviality,” the line of the week.

  6. Exquisite choices, exquisite blog, have an exquisite holiday weekend.
I didn’t just learn that word, in case you are asking yourself the question.
I’m back in the states for a few weeks and will catch up.

Everybody doesn’t know, it takes some years for most people to get it.

  7. beautiful song Cooper…thanks for the Concrete Blonde version…very nice :) and the Morrison/Mraz song…that’s a new one for me…very easy to listen to :)

  8. I had a bad breakup with a girl who once went to a Jason Mraz concert.

Also FYI, your Old School Friday posts are the most culture I get in a typical week.

Alright, now back to living vicariously through myself.

    • Better through yourself.
“I had a bad breakup with a girl who once went to a Jason Mraz concert.”
I guess that means you are like a fifteenth cousin, through no fault of your own, one time removed.
