I’m coming off a wonderful last evening, an evening where the self deprecating sense of humor of a 75 year old women named Lenore impelled me to laugh to three steps ahead of death, coerced my stomach to ache and my chest to throb so hard that for a time I seriously wondered if my rib cage was still intact. A total “get over yourself moment”, an event that made me wish I could transcribe real life scenarios and situations, things that make me feel good or make me laugh, into type written wonders which could do as much for those who read them as they do for me. I can’t do that, but I want to thank Lenore for adding at least 5 years to my life. Eat your hearts out.

And finally: The L.A. Times has a story up about Lavena Johnson. What it’s going on 4 years now? It’s a great article but there is a sense that timeliness is not an issue with these people. Still, it’s nice to see it.

It is, as Philip pointed out, a good place to start if you are unfamiliar with the story. For those of you who are familiar with the story, a story I’ve been covering here since last summer, it is still a good read.
The delivery of Philip’s petition “to select members of the two Armed Services Committees – scheduled for last year, but delayed a number of times by events and ultimately deferred – is now close at hand.” I’ll keep tabs on this and let you all know what is going on.

That case is one of the reasons why I distrust most military set of systems in place in this country. Any time you give a military preemptive power to investigate its own affairs without an outside tribunal able to balance it, you’re asking for situations like these to arrive.

Also, it is my goal to be the last non-twitterer on Earth. Then I figure all the other twitterers will be tweeting about me, referring to me as “the non-conformist,” “twitter enemy #1″ or perhaps simply “him.”
You may already be. Oh, wait, right, my grandmother has thus far resisted the twit.
This was a great description, makes me envious of the time. You are just one of those people who keep things close to you, this makes taking about how situations makes you feel acceptable, but talking or writing about the incident directly unacceptable, in some way.
I get very little about Lavena Johnson across my news alerts, more in the last month or so though.

Eh there is something to be said for not putting it all out there. It makes me feel cleaner. Some people feel cleaner putting it all out there, it is merely individual preference.
Write it and they will come.
It is hard to write about situations where you laughed until you cried and have people who read it really get the same feeling.
