The world is an infinite garbage can – I suppose when a linguist becomes a social activist his language is unsurpassed.
Chomsky is one of the more fascinating people alive and I’m glad you like him. Gives me a false sense of security about the world
I almost got to see Noam, in connection with the Loebner competition (Reading UK). They had invited him to speak, but he had to decline for health reasons — at least that’s what I heard. The insightfulness of his articles always impresses me.
Yes these are words of wisdom echoed again from yet another strong intellect.
I believe we are at the brink of change, but many will argue rather this change is good or bad, but regardless it is near.
I believe this change is only coming because the way of things is collapsing in on itself.
Will make a great blockbuster family movie box office hit regardless.
I still wish I was Asian because of the much better fresh fish diet.

Indeed.
It’s nice to post something like this before someone dies, these things always get posted with the good old RIP. Brilliant piece — on human destiny.
Ever wonder what someone like Chomsky does on his birthday?

Here’s hoping he stays alive awhile longer. I take solace in his words — some of them anyway.
Ah, happy birthday to the great socio-linguist. By which I mean he should enjoy it.

That’s unfortunate, that would have been quite remarkable.
You know, I like Noam, but after spending an wild, wild birthday night with him, I gotta tell ya, the man can’t hold his liquor.

Depending on a person’s politica viewpoint, Chomsky is the yang to Rand’s yin.
Some might, however, simply see them all as a bunch of ying-yangs.
