She Bop, She Bop, and I Don’t Care

I am recovering from a serious episode of disorganization that occurred while trying to organize the 100+ More Ways to Organize Your Life. Consequently it’s notes of nothing here today.

We all have friends who send us useless links from online mags we stopped reading junior year of college right? Please tell me I’m not the only one. I’m sure the intent was good when not one but two friends sent me the link to 10 Pop Songs About Female Masturbation. The comments at least were most entertaining.

Paraphrased to prevent litigation humiliation.

“OMG WOW OMG,OMG, OMG i had NO idea bjork’s “all is full of love” is about masturbating”.

Makes me wanna say Happy Holiday to you girlfriend.

I don’t want to hear songs about masturbation, female or male, anymore than I want to hear songs about who you fuck, but hey that’s just me. Maybe it’s because I’ve been listening to them since 9th grade, and the novelty wore off at around age 18. Moreover, making videos about female masturbation geared, in some instances, toward getting men off is disturbing.

Besides how many people masturbate wearing this get up?

Don’t answer that unless your willing to write a full paragraph.

But hey, who am I to de-bop those who just wanna have fun, and tell the world about it….on camera, while titillating someones tinker bell.

And another study to which I say “DUH”?

Too Much Commitment May Be Unhealthy For Relationships, Professor Says

Sometimes, however, one or both partners place too much emotional weight on their relationship. As a result, men or women may tend to evaluate their self-worth solely based on the outcomes of their romantic interactions. This is what psychologists term as relationship-contingent self-esteem (RCSE), and, according to University of Houston researcher Chip Knee, it’s an unhealthy factor in romantic relationships.

Stop the studies. It’s been established that excess is usually bad. Moderation is usually good. In exercise, sex, alcohol, and Love. Especially Love.

Ponder that while I enjoy the lyrics to one of my favorite songs.

Two weeks in a Virginia jail
For my lover for my lover
Twenty thousand dollar bail
For my lover for my lover

LISTEN -for-my-lover

Sense of humor is a little dull this week. Please forgive me.

Borges waxed poetic at fifty odd years or so “La muerte me desgasta, incesante”

For me it’s life relentlessly pursuing me, undaunted in it’s quest. To conquer or bequeath I do not know.

la vida me desgasta, incesante

peace

27 Thoughts on “She Bop, She Bop, and I Don’t Care

  1. If I wore that I wouldn’t tell you. You’d make fun of me.

That Chapman piece is hotter than those videos anyhow.

    In a different way. ;)

I know what you mean about the significance of anything like that past a certain age – omg, omg, omg.

  2. I’m glad people of your generation know Tracy Chapman. By people, I mean you and Lisa Simpson.

  3. That group bop video, I’ve not seen it before, is interesting.
What’s freaky is Cyndi Lauper is my mother’s age.

No time for a paragraph this morning.
Never heard that Chapman song before thanks.

    casey’s last blog post..Maryland, O’Malley, Coldplay.

  4. I don’t even have a paragraph on masturbation.
In the 80′s Lauper’s “Girls just want to have fun” was an anthem–just among my best friends

  5. OMG, OMG, I didn’t know “She Bop” was about masturbation!!!!!!

I notice females send more emails to each other about themselves than men do. Men, heterosexual men, would be sending the female masturbation song link to their friends, not songs sung by males. Wonder why that is?

    Do they have a Jezeboy?

The list was entertaining, but the comments were funnier.

  6. RCSE it’s called. I tend to agree – being mine, as limited as they ever were, were in the bad end of that spectrum.

I think it was due to:
    1) Little self-worth. When you can think back, very vividly, to all the times people disregard your opinion, abandon or otherwise, skate on you, you don’t get too much encouragement in that area. So you let your worth be determined by others or your accomplishments…Sad, ain’t it?
    2) Experience. There is a right age to start doing that dating stuff. I came late to the show, had “father issues” and the party never got started. People almost need 3-5 Long term (over 6 months) to figure out what they want. Else, they probably will Fuck up and divorce later over whatever it was they didn’t figure out THEY TRULY NEEDED.
    3) Expectation. Strangely, not having any makes you more appealing to most. Like jumping from girl to girl was what a “friend” of mine did. Use them for as Bill Clinton called it, “sexual relations.” In truth, Drew (my friend) just got BJs from any girl that would. (Oh, and he had a “weapon” in that game.) Since his expectation was the 4Fs of crassness, he got all the action he could handle. (Airline Pilot now…think that has changed.)
    4) No matter what the story is, relationships and career are the majority of your life. It takes plenty of SKILL to handle both well. JUST look at how many don’t have 1 or the other, and the ones that have neither. I’d reckon it is around 70% that are screwing the doorhandle of successful choices of mates and work picked.

  7. I looked through the organizational links and put the link called “later” in a pile of things to do later, I’m not convinced “Later” is going to be much help but I like the concept. Practically everything I come across online I want to get back to later, and never do.

yea that post was not interesting reading for me, it would have been interesting at age 14 but like you said now…meh.

I forgot how old Lauper is too. I love that song by Tracy Chapman. It’s the first time I’ve heard it.

  8. Borges is one of my favorite literary figures.
We try to conquer life while bequeathed with it’s presence. We chase life while death chases us. Life can seem like it’s pursuing us at times.
We don’t usually wear the clothing displayed in the masturbation song/video but hell of a way to conquer.

I like what you’ve don with the place, again.
Thanks for the bit of tracy.

  9. The sense of humor is right on.
la vida es mejor que muerte. Cualquier día!
Of course I’m much more of a Camus existentialist.

  10. masterbingo should be the telling clue for anyone watching the video.

but hey… a song fave of mine has long been a diddy by Romeo Void. And then… there’s Turning Japanese. Some things are too naughty to be left alone.

  11. I always get educated here, even if unintentionally. It is middle school-ish, I see your point, but perhaps a peace of information to keep in my back pocket to be retrieved at one of those boring holiday parties everyone has to attend at some time or another.
“How you been?” The weather has been atrocious hasn’t it? How about those auto-makers wanting us to bail them out? Did you know Bjork’s “All is Full of Blove” is about masturbation?”

    Chapman awesome.
