A couple of days ago I read a post at Womanist Musings about a case where a 15 year old was charged for taking nude pictures of herself with a cell phone.
Wombat reminded me of it again with his post today, It’s Time to Get Angry, so I want you all to go take a look and see how utterly messed up this is.
In a world where it took years to even get a church to admit to priests sexually abusing little boys, and where due penalties were really never handed out. Where we still have pedophile rapist priests living in relative comfort in various places all over the world, including the Vatican, we charge a girl who takes nude pictures of herself with a crime – at the speed of light no less.
I can certainly see where the girl needs a warning as it could be a dangerous thing to do for her own sake, but to bother charging her as they did?
