All The Right Moves, All The Wrong Stuff

The pundits are falling all over her, even Chris Matthews. Most likely because he finds her non– threatening. Some well known token right pundit from MSNBC screamed, “she hit it out of the ballpark, she was attractive, and vibrant, she looked good, she winked at the audience — really engaging them. Biden was boring.” (paraphrased — I don’t remember the whole thing I watched the first part of the debate in a bar and my memory is suffering the affects)

Not to mention style columnists love her.

That VP power expansion elaboration she went on is about the only time she addressed a real question.

Aesthetically pleasing performance. Substantively a nightmare that no one seemed to notice.

Ah but wait.…“the people” may have noticed.

Early polls suggest they aren’t buying it.

It’s the old “you’re a nice women and smart in some respects, as you nicely manipulated your talking points into something which was supposed to be a debate, but you were unquestionably sub par
in this debate girlfriend, out of your league when it came to knowledge, and when it came to your ability to explain your policies. You looked energetic though. We know that is all the base needs to keep you on, but we are not buying it.”
.

Governor, you have all the right moves, but all the wrong stuff.

May your God Bless America, and send you back to Alaska.

    ;) )

Biden Smarter — Nice Contrast to Palin — Bill Maher said it Nicely Palin is a Moron + Religious Kook! ;) ) Good Riddance Bush + McANUS + Brainwashed Flock!

    Peace*

    • That’s sweet Billy, are you sending me love sons now?

If only Bill Maher didn’t break my heart daily with his misogynistic ramblings. I think now that he has done “Religulous” he should probably due a movie exploring reasons not to be a sexist asshole.

  • You know, I wonder if maybe the media is toeing the line in some cases to make sure that it effectively evades accusations of sexism. As I recall, Hillary had her best numbers against Obama when she had people convinced that Obama’s success was due to a misogynistic press corps.

Palin herself said it best tonight. We don’t need the media to tell us what the things she said mean. We know damn well ourselves the extent to which her ignorance would damage us if she were ever elected.

    • I’m sure that is a good part of the reason.
Thank god fewer and fewer people are paying attention to the media.

  • Palin just seems the cliche, all style and no substance. I still don’t understand where she stands on all the issues. And all the issues I do understand her stance on, I’m very much scared to enable such policies to be enacted across the country.

  • Chris Matthews said all that? I’m glad I didn’t watch MSNBC. Personally can’t stand Matthews — I like Olberman, and Maddow. I can’t follow most of what Palin says. It’s like trying to follow the sentence structure of an excited 5 year old when they try to tell you everything they just did, and also.

    • No Matthews didn’t say that, though he was fairly drooling, possibly like wombat said in order to tow the line and appear non biased. It was “Some well known token right pundit from MSNBC” — pat Buchanan — which of course is expected but it was the excited way he did it which wanted to make me puke, or laugh.

  • Was it just me or was that whole debate completely disjointed.

    • I think they got to Gwen’s head because they started to chatter up how she woudl be a biased moderator because of her book. She didn’t follow up near enough when Palin didn’t actually answer any questions, therefore we ended up with a debate in which Biden answered the questions, Palin made set talking point she didn’t debate at all. She’s a good winker though. Biden had to come back and counter her talking points and so it went.

They both have at least one requirement for office I liked.…they both have great teeth, very important for a public figure.

  • Pundits said Biden was boring “going on about this and that in detail”, the stuff we should be listening for, that people got bored, it was over their heads.

In the light of day the people were listening, even to that detail stuff. The outward show is no longer enough.

    • I just saw your post about listening without watching and you’re right. I’ve heard that a couple of times. I’ll comment later got to run. thanks for the link. I’ll send you a check. ;)

  • It is not sexist to greatly dislike stupidity.

It is stupid, however, to vote for someone simply based on their gender, boob size, teeth and winkiness.

There was supposed to be a debate last night. On that count, Sarah Palin lost. I don’t care what the pundits say. They got it wrong. When a person does not come to actually debate the issues then the victory goes to the person who actually does arrive prepared and ready to debate. It’s down-right scarey when one of the debators announces at the start that she’s not going to play by the rules and then finishes by claiming the constitution allows for the vice president to muddle in the affairs of congress. This country really does not need a female version of dickless cheney. Really, we don’t.

On a brighter note, a judge in Alaska refused to throw out legislative subpoena’s issued in the Troopergate ethics investigation so we might get to see Todd and Sarah testify under oath.

  • I hate coming here and saying “I agree”, but I agree. I think the show was nice. She didn’t embarrass herself, but she didn’t(couldn’t) debate to save her life. She is good on talking points she had memorized. A personable lady, not a VP of a really fucked up country, a country in need of some serious help.

The wink. That was annoying. Unless it was a tic. If so forgive me.

    • I really didn’t get the wink thing, it’s a something they would surely have to tame. I don’t think winking at Muslim leaders would be such a good idea.

  • You just hit it out of the ballpark, cooper.

  • hey, she inspired me to try satire in Courting

And I had to call a bank about ten times today. Finally got the right person – named Pallen (spelled like that) I couldn’t help it – said “you poor poor person.” He laughed and we told Palin jokes

That’s the truly sad part. She’s so inspirational and really is my worst nightmare – me in a debate thinking of nothing substantive
Have to admit the being interviewed by Katie Couric and not getting anything right nightmare is new

  • I was to a point last night that I was about to pull my hair out watching. I told my husband if she winked one more time I was going to bitch slap her through the TV.

If my husband hadn’t been so enthralled in laughing at her… I would have turned the channel.

She did exactly what I use to do on my essay questions on test… bullshitted her way through the whole answer.… SHE NEVER ANSWERED A SINGLE DAMN QUESTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am sorry, but I CAN NOT understand why ANYONE WITH A BRAIN was impressed by her in that debate. I was ANGRY… still am ANGRY… that there may be a chance that this woman may help run this country. If that happens… I am moving to Iraq.… I think I would be safer…

  • You (‘ll) know how I feel.
