Wonderland or Not

There But For Fortune

Seeming more like fall than summer the weather has been spectacular here.
I’ve hiked more the last couple weeks than the whole summer combined.
A good thing as my ass will be sitting a lot now that school has started.

My time, partially my own for a few weeks is no longer so. That’s alright
as I’m eager to get on with it.

I’m sparing you more boring political commentary by posting my last one to Blog Critics.

On Biting The Dog That Bit You. You may make hot on it all you like.

I’ll be in reading and writing form tomorrow.

Until then, a great Phil Ochs song.

Show me a prison, show me a jail
Show me a pris’ner whose face has grown pale

And I’ll show you a young man
With many reasons why
There but for fortune, go you or I

Show me an alley, show me a train
Show me a hobo who sleeps out in the rain

And I’ll show you a young man
With many reasons why
There but for fortune, go you or I

Show me the whiskey stains on the floor
Show me a drunk as he stumbles out the door

And I’ll show you a young man
With many reasons why
There but for fortune, go you or I

Show me a country where the bombs had to fall
Show me the ruins of buildings so tall

And I’ll show you a young land
With many reasons why
There but for fortune, go you or I
You or I

peace

I saw Bill Maher on Larry King the other night - he’s Awesome!!

Refreshing that he is exposing Religion + the fact Americans are completely Brainwashed by it for the Baloney that it is*

Can’t wait to see his new Movie Religulous!!!!!

;)) Peace*

I gave up on him some time ago I’m afraid. I can’t get past his pretty obvious sexism.

Good to hear that you’ve managed to make the best of time.

Loved the BC piece

Thanks wombat.

Well not always the best of time but as best as I can make it without a real vacation. ;)

Glad to read that you’ve been hitting the trails. Was trailriding over in the woods SW of Gettyburg during the past week and enjoyed it tremendously. Well, except for the horse droppings that the tires kicked up onto my back.

That’s such a great, sad song. Ochs…always sad about Ochs. You ask me, that’s when that 60’s ended.

That does appear to have been a tragic story. He certainly left some great songs behind.

Great song.

Loved the article at bc, am working so will comment on it later. Otherwise the comment is apt to be full of spelling and grammar errors which will just embarrass me. ;0
