Wonderland or Not

Biden to Block the Democrats Boulevard of Broken Dreams?

Much has already been said, so my opinion will be checked for now, except to say the title of the article below says it all pretty clearly, and almost correctly. A more accurate title may have been Blue-Collar, male Voters with a tendency toward subconscious racism, but too much truth does not for a good political race make.

Obama Aims Convention at Blue-Collar Voters
Obama goes after blue-collar voters at convention; McCain tries to incite Clinton backers.

I also agree with Ta-Nehisi Coates when he says “I do think that there isn’t a single VP candidate who McCain can select that wants to see Biden in a debate. Not one.”

“The United States said Sunday it was disappointed the Olympics had not brought more “openness and tolerance” in China as the games ended and eight American activists were deported during closing ceremonies.” Oh really? So, you didn’t pick up on the clues?

Between you and me, even the chants of U.S.A., U.S.A. I heard through-out scared me.

Enough about the world.

From childhood’s hour I have not been
As others were; I have not seen
As others saw; I could not bring
My passions from a common spring.
From the same source I have not taken
My sorrow; I could not awaken
My heart to joy at the same tone;
And all I loved, I loved alone.
Then - in my childhood, in the dawn
Of a most stormy life - was drawn
From every depth of good and ill
The mystery which binds me still:
From the torrent, or the fountain,
From the red cliff of the mountain,
From the sun that round me rolled
In its autumn tint of gold,
From the lightning in the sky
As it passed me flying by,
From the thunder and the storm,
And the cloud that took the form
(When the rest of Heaven was blue)
Of a demon in my view.

Alone

Surprising that McCain is running an ad attacking Obama for not choosing Hillary due to millions of votes. Under that theory, is McCain obligated to choose either Huckabee or Paul? Oh those ronulans will absolutely pee their pants at that prospect.

There’s been a bunch of athletes from around the world who “joined” the Team Darfur effort. Unfortunately, the Team Darfur message still has the Beijing Olympics as something to be held in the future. Perhaps the organizers were too busy getting kicked out of China to update the essential greeting.

Oh wait… Joey Cheek and his co-organizers weren’t allowed into China! Dang! Well, I hope all those medalists use the opportunity to preach from their pulpits.

Some were allowed in but muzzled and frankly some of them are a tad naive taking a post on one of the athlete’s blogs

“Hopefully by 2012, the movement to end genocide in Darfur will also be as strong, and as popular. “
2012? popular? I know it’s just semantics but it seems the intent to stop this now seems to have been missed.
made me go what the fuck?

To date, Team Darfur has been a fizzle. They’ve done absolutely nothing. Linked blogs are outdated. Those that are up-to-date have nothing about their thoughts about Darfur. I’ve seen nothing where any athlete has spoken out - not even Lopez Lomong or the Sudanese medalist (who is also from Darfur). What’s the point if they are not going to do anything?

Cooper–I think Obama is wonderful the way he is. I never got the whole elitist/lack of experience thing. So if he picks Biden that’s fine with me

McCain is doing a very astute political move. he’s pandering to the Hillary lovers. Ones who were on the fence about voting for Obama or McCain–well McCain now speaks for them

It’s frigging sickening as so quickly they forget the past eight years. i have never been a “party” person but no longer consider the Republican party a political party but a facistic organization

They made more radical and turned me into a true Democrat, almost, and i resent that

I couldn’t watch the Olympics because it was in China. There’s nothing wrong and a lot right with patriotism, but thers’s so little to be proud of America for. that said, reading about the men’s volleyball team made me cry

There was something very creepy about thousands of people all doing the same thing.

I read an article - posted on th side about Obama’s economic philosophy and found it quite interesting and it made me gain a little hope back.

Don’t know if you were working in Poe while writing this or had it on the brain via my post. Anyways, good poem.

‘I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep - while I weep!’
EAP

Olympics: good it’s over. I am hoping for Rio in 2016, not Chicago. (Even if employment opps. would be up due to throwing up infrastructure.)

Sounds like Sudan might be heading down the civil war path again… Darfur will get pushed aside like it all ready is. Comment? What would you do, IF you RAN the RODEO?

You’re right. I’m coming to grips with Biden.

Just posted a quick link to some Colorado news coverage of what some are calling a “potential assassination attempt”.

I’m not going to get sick about it until we hear what is up.

I saw that late I started school yesterday so didn’t read much until later, but will wait and see what it turns into. Almost sounds like some crack-heads went nuts- which can happen anyway especially in Denver.I think they have a high number of rather right thinking crack-heads.

Hi Cooper, love the intro page - very nice!

Over the years I have always been a supporter of Biden’s. Yes, he has his issues, but so does the rest of the world. I think that he is a far better pick, in this instance, than anyone else out there.

And I am in total agreement with any vp candidate of McCain’s not wanting to debate Biden. He’ going to blow whomever it is off of the stage. You know that it’s going to be hilarious.

That’s the beauty of Biden, he can draw from his hip pocket, but then again that’s part of the ugliness of Biden. He can be too quick on the draw. Oh well…
