It’s a Beautiful Morning

Never a doubt in my mind of John Edward’s ability to sell snake oil, but the list of adulterers is long with many a winding turn. Nothing to see here folks, move along.

Or should I say, snap out of it.

So, while Google’s blocking your attempt to access “a dispatch from Beijing-based journalist Mara Hvistendahl about ordinary Chinese laborers trying to catch a glimpse of the opening ceremonies” offered up at The Plank and you’re trying to find a work around, or while you’re comforting Elisabeth Edwards over at her Daily Kos blog post, remember LaVena Johnson, be aware of the military onslaught of Russia in Georgia.

An more importantly, don’t forget to catch up with Former “Idol” star Clay Aiken and his new son.

It’s a beautiful morning.

Peace

20 Thoughts on “It’s a Beautiful Morning

  1. And Bernie Mac died at age 50! of Pneumonia!! Are we living in another century??

    • I saw that. So young, but like John said below it appeared he had an autoimmune disease which may have contributed to his succumbing to his pneumonia. May he RIP.

  2. And the beat goes on.

The press never failing not to impress me.

Bernie Mac had sarcoidosis. They said his death had nothing to do with that , but it sounds like a condition that could make pneumonia more serious.

  3. What really pisses me off about Edwards is that he could conceivably have been the presumptive nominee at this point. He was willing to put the election at risk for his cause to further his personal ambitions, which is unforgivable after eight years of Bush.

    • He knew it before that time yet he went ahead – showing his arrogance. I never had an ounce of belief in him at all so it doesn’t bother me, but it does show him in s much worse light to those who were in political love with him.

  4. some grim news Cooper…
    especially if it’s your birthday….
woke up this morning to hear about the Russia/Georgia war…

    • It is indeed grim. Here they prefer not to cover the real news though so for the most part people don’t see real news unless it’s in their backyard.

  5. My tv is on cnn as background noise quite a bit. The amount of coverage that Edwards got yesterday was ridiculous. I kept wondering is there nothing else going on in the world. The brought on a psychologist to discuss infidelity and its impact. Do they think that viewers are idiots? I just wanted to say enough move on.

    • Yea, you couldn’t get away from the coverage. Does the media even know how they look covering this stuff non-stop? Like idiots.

I guess there are enough idiot viewers to make covering the insignificant worthwhile.

  6. While normally, I’m willing to let politicians’ private lives be (except in cases of extreme hypocrisy, like when a homophobic politician is caught playing footsies in a bathroom stall), Edwards in this case showed that he was willing to risk not only his own career and family life, but the Democrats’ chances of regaining the white house. Can you imagine if he’d gotten the nomination? Between now and the convention, there’d be a virtual civil war in the Democratic party between Edwards loyalists, replace-him-with-Hilary people and replace-him-with-Obama people. McCain would have a cakewalk into the White House. Okay, I’ve vented. Cool blog.

  7. Self-righteousness and rightness are inversely correlated. Watch out little Clay!

  8. Hey Cooper! Thanks for the news on Clay Aiken, I was just enjoying several of his videos last week on AOL Top 11, now I have his new cd; ‘on my way here’! His talent as a singer is appreciated, though like politics I stay away from scrutinize his personal life and self because of the never ending bias news media that is constantly merely plugging for ratings with reckless disregard for the subject matter or Person. What ever happened to quality reporting before gossip became a topic of interest?

  9. He didn’t get the nomination so I’m not following it. My mother (and many “progressives” from her generation used to say Harry Truman was the only president who didn’t have affairs.) I would add both Bushes as well yuck–and Obama as he will be a president for a new century and world

Why does Doug always know the perfectly sick thing to say?

  10. Another diamond. We see the news but miss the news. This week we also “celebrated” the 10 year anniversary of the bomb attacks in Kenya. And not a word from anyone…
