Wonderland or Not

The First Cut

Shout to John for the top two items in this post.

Google now gives walking directions. How cool is that.

I told you those boots were made for walking, now the Google god is doing it diplomatically by offering up walking maps. I say Off your ass people, start walking.

CBS appears to have edited some of an interview Katie Couric had with McCain, splicing in a response from a different part of the interview in place of his initial response, his original being either wrong, or stupid – I forget which.

I would pretend to care, but a plate of Lebanese food and a bottle of wine made it insignificant last night and that hasn’t changed much today. Media still matters though, yes it does, so feel free to read the full story and view the video at the link provided.

The “better luck next time” award goes to the four peace activists in Iowa who tried to make a citizens arrest of Karl Rove. (source)

Let’s drink a cup of kindness for all things past. I was taken down a peg or two while scrolling my archives and finding I once wrote a post/poem about dots. The post was titled, what else, A Dots’ Thoughts for the Weekend. It’s entertaining enough though, and holds a clue to why I have yet to be inducted into the poets have of fame.

My old school friday post disappeared with no help from me, not sure what happened. I’m working on it.

Peace.

The only reason you haven’t been inducted into the poet’s hall of fame is they have asked me for nominees yet. I like the dot post, even if it won’t be mentioned in your plaque citation,

I’ll give them your number.

What was it again?

I don’t think I was reading your blog often back then.I was in the middle of one life drama or another at school.

I like the poem, the post is pretty cool too. I’m happy you pointed it out.’I'm sure those in charge of the hall of fame will come calling one day. You’re the first person I know who has written a “dot” poem. That accounts for something.

Come here, we write poetry, music, build surfboards and in general make no use of our education daily.

The editing splice event is probably among many, this one was just a more obvious blooper, they are all getting careless cuz we ask so little of them.

Yeah, I’ll be right there.

I’m sure there’s a dot poem somewhere else.

When I hear “dots” I think of the candy. The poem - the first sign you were a little out of the box. ;)

I like the walking directions, Go google

Media does still mater, only it matters less and less every day.

enjoy the rest of your weekend.

less and less is right.

I love those dots, low in fat high in simple sugars.

Don’t think I ever read the dot thing. I love it. You were meaner when you weren’t in grad school.

Media still matters? You sure?

I almost had dots at the movies tonight, but they stick to my teeth too much to make it worthwhile.

So are you all upgraded? I meant to keep checking back to see if it was as taxing on you as it has been on a few others.

I previously read a little bit about this Katie Couric thing, it is very interesting; wonder what her or her producers motivation is?

No I haven’t had time and when I opened my reader this evening the first thing i saw was one of the blogs I read saying there blog had been killed by the upgrade and they would be back to finish it later.

i want to do it when I have a h our to give it undivided attention. Maybe tomorrow.
Who knows, CBS is not one of my most trusted news sources. But it is pretty ridiculous for something which is supposedly real news.

Wow. Maybe I can print that out and not risk being arrested for walking. Though people actually talk to me now, and I’m not sure what an impact Google will have here

I like your dot poem. But I love people who don’t take their poetry seriously

And anybody who tries to arrest Karl Rove, yes……

Maybe they’ll have a couple of routes. The speechless route and the chatty route.

hello Cooper
I thought the ‘dot’ poem was brevity at its best…
as for google walking maps….what do we do with our street directories now??

In the case of my poems brevity is the always best.

True but most people ,at least my age or younger, probably never used a street directory.

Nice! I didn’t know they did that. I love the ’street view’ where you can see up and down certain streets. Although I do think it’s getting too advanced, there are stalkers out there who don’t need access to all this technology. ;-)

You always were a little dotty, thanks for the remind. ;)

Google is getting too close. Soon you will find directions to everyones residence with a photo spread of the landscape along with an” inside this home” tour.

If Walter Cronkhite were dead, he’d be rolling over in his grave over what the idiots at CBS are constantly doing. Hard to believe that at one time, CBS was synonymous with the concept of integrity. My, oh my, but how things have changed. Almost makes me want to start believing Dan Rather’s claims that he had nothing to do with the creation of those false documents which lead to his ouster. Someone needs to do some serious fanny kicking over at CBS.

It’s just best not to watch.
