Wonderland or Not

Bill Moyers on the Danse Macabre of The Media

It’s been danse macabre for media since I began reading or watching it, so knowing the deficiencies of a media which bows to corporate entities I enjoyed this clip of Bill Moyers keynote speech at the National Conference for Media Reform

Hey folks, it was “Sad” Love Songs.

I’m glad I’m not your professor.

The media made their choices based on the dollar. The people have an option to choose too. We need to stop watching it until it fixes itself and stop reading things by organizations heavily underwritten by corporations.

I’m getting to be less of a visual news hound than I am a written news hound. But even there, the offerings can be slim. Moyer is good, as is The Economist.

The title, tho, is what caught my eye. Does Danse Macabre have words to it?

The Economist I like though it is a little ideologically conservative most of the time, IMO.

I used it literally - so not it was not even related to it’s original definition in the true sense of the word.

No video either…though possible there have been films made, and music composed, under the title.

That’s a tiny video.

Known this forever, it should be a class in middle school - “how the media is liable to corporations not to truth” . Required before graduating to high school.

It is tiny, I didn’t want it to overwhelm.

I haven’t seen him in awhile, he’s right but it is very late for the to call to get a handle on it.

Better late….

Wait did I miss something? Are you somebody’s professor?
I didn’t mean to stay away so long I’ve been in Peru.

I’ve aged so since you’ve been away I feel old enough to call you joey.
Nope, didn’t miss a thing.
