Wonderland or Not

Old School Friday To Come - New Job Friday is Here

I’m going to let the political chips fall where they may this weekend – except to note that the DNC has stated they will no longer accept lobbyist money. With Obama’s team taking over - having done so well raising money without the use of special interests - they will dismiss lobbying money, and by doing this they let the people know the change is already on the way. Good political move, and I hope the intentions are what they seem.

I have a job interview this afternoon, actually a clarification interview I’ve already interviewed once.

I’ve put over a year in, longer if you counting internship, at the NGO. The job I’m applying for is in the public policy sector, and will work out well, as my last job was more international. My degrees will be in public policy and international affairs, so I think this is cherry. It will also allow me to spend more time working with the arts council where I’m on the board.

I will be able to walk, bike, or skateboard ( no I won’t be doing that) to work , instead of sitting in traffic for the 45 mile drive each morning, plus driving to the extra events schedules on weekends. Seriously this gas issue is disturbing.

Wish me luck.

The rest of the weekend will be for fun.

This evening I will do an OSF( Old School Friday) post and you can post along.

The rules to osf are here at Marv’s place.

The theme will be

Not Another Sad Love Song

I’m walking to my interview now.

Peace

Break a leg :) Merde :) Etc.

It amazes me that when you don’t post for a day or two how my whole routine feels out of whack–not that you should post….

Thanks for pointing out my Plan B–forgot to say the third one was Pan C, of course

We have known about gas spiraling out of control at least since the 70’s. It is a problem America made for itself

I will probably do that skateboarding to work.

The gas thing, so unnecessary, at least as I see it.

Why not skateboard to work. Hike those black suit pants up and go for it.

It’s a short one I can finish if you want. ;)

Good luck with the interview. Gas is so expensive I can’t leave the beach.

I want a different color, or several colors, preferably all black.

The local work is a good option. I hope things worked out, and you got the job. It sounds like a good way to go - giving you experience in both aspects of your interest and education.

Worked out,yes.

It’s my savoir- vivre, my mother and father were excellent employment or work obtainers, it’s in the blood.

Great that you can use alternative modes of transportation - a gallon of regular gas here in Truckee is $4.59. Ouch!
Also, your soon to be employer should get down on his knees and thank God that you’re coming on board.
All the best to you!

I’ll let you tell them that, I don’t think there will be any down on the knees stuff going on where I work, it is still non governmental………..;)

I love the walking part and some days maybe I will bike, though I do not own a bike, yet.

Yes you should try an alternative form if possible.

I imagine there are really no car pools for 4 mile car trips.

I don’t blame you. I live in the city and only drive four miles. I suppose I could walk or bike. Now I feel guilty.

Hope you got it if you wanted it.
