Phyllis Schlafly, darling of the Ladies Home Journal crowd, best known for her advocacy of the role of full-time homemaking, and her ten year battle against the Equal Rights Amendment, is receiving an honorary degree from Washington University in St. Louis.
Along side her, among others, including the famous sexist Chris Matthews, will be Jessie L. Ternberg, M.D., Ph.D a trailblazing female physician and a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
