I’m Melting, I’m Melting

Photobucket

I want to thank those who gave me an “E”, all reads of mine and all “E” recipients themselves.

Marv: Officially a writer now, Opinionated Black Woman, and now Sports Chick at Get Your Own Beer. If you haven’t visited Marv, check her out in all her awesomeness.

Sheila. from Black Tennis Pro, the place to go for tennis news, and hot pictures professional photographs of Dustin Brown. An audio cast report is one great feature, so if your eyes are tired you can listen to the smooth voice of Sheila reporting.

Yobachi: hip hop artist, activist, reporter, a daily read of mine, from BlackPerspective.net - who gave the E to the Darfur blog, and this blog, though he is still perplexed as to what this blog is exactly about.

Anyone else? I’m only going to explain it once.

My E’s will go out soon.

Also thanks to Yobachi (because I am not reading news this week, or at least not much) for filling me in on the that horrible Bah..brah, Walta’s sudden confession of an affair, eons ago, with the first African American popularly elected to the Senate, Edward Brooke.

Dear babs, feeling the arms of obscurity closing around her as she melts from sight like the wicked witch from Oz, takes one last stab at burning a scarecrow, branding the earth forever with the charred remains.

Babs what a groupie you were. What you are now, however, is is totally irrelevant, and who you “banged” back in the “me decade” means nothing.

Interviewing a few good men does not make you a good man.

I’m not sure what this “confession” makes you. I don’t even care really. Be gone with you.

Mr Brooks rightfully refused comment stating, he does not talk about his or other people’s private lives.

Barbara evidently didn’t take the character oath.

And oftentimes, to win us to our harm,
The instruments of darkness tell us truths,
Win us with honest trifles, to betray’s
In deepest consequence.

  • I’ve called myself a writer, but never had anyone else call me that…I think I like it…

    ::giggles::

I am, in fact, novelizing right at this moment; inspiration seems to strike me around the midnight hour…go figure.

You are and always will be, well…excellent…thank you for the thank you (is that appropriate?)

    • I tend to be a night owl as well. Unfortunately I’m a night owl usually has to get up at the crack of dawn.

  • I think you are also A for Awesome, B for Bonafide, C for Classy,
D for Divine, and F for Fantastic. And that’s only the tip of the alphaberg.

  • Three no wicked witches? Nice MacBethery. I’ll try out some of those links pretty soon.

  • Heh.

Babs? Skanky? Never. ;P Wouldn’t be surprised if she’d banged half the the geriatric anchors in the old broadcaster’s home, too. Hell, some of the best sex scandals in modern history have come out of television news.

The pioneers of women’s broadcasting did, in her defense, have to use every trick (no pun intended) in their feminine arsenals to get the big pieces, score the big interviews over the rest of the Midwestern Old White Guy’s Club of 1950s-1970s network news. And it is indeed probably a good thing that, well, she’s coming clean about it — times have changed, and, lord, it’s not like male reporters have never f**ked a story.

One day I’ll tell you the story of why some writing profs will NEVER, EVER send another aspiring journalist to my office to get the “inside” in to small– to mid-market broadcasting.

Those women who want to be pretty weather girls who smile at the greenscreen or their hometown morning chat hosts when they grow up? Yeah, they cry easily.

    Lol, blogs have “aboutness?!?”

    • I ‘d be careful if I were you. Nicole Kidman played one of those weather girls.

Didn’t she end up murdering her husband because her ambitions were a tad grader than that?

  • I watch the news way too infreently. I missed barbara’s gut spill. I didn’t even know she has a book until I just looked this up. I’ll be sure to check out her book when it’s on the clearnce rack at Barnes and Nobel or at the community yard sale.

  • When you start discussing things which could affect others there has to be a line drawn, unless it is a need to know. In this situation there is no need to know.

I’m sure Miss Walters thinks the world needs to know everything about her, but history would not have been adversely affected had she chose to reveal less.

I’d give you an E if I had one. ;(

    • Thanks jacob. I just thought better of her than that, when I did think of her, which wasn’t often if ever, so I guess maybe I didn’t think better of her after all.

  • It’s unfair you should use Macbeth, but smacking brilliant in a way.

  • I’m liking the small pictures you’re using, just enough.

Spot on regarding Miss Walters. I’ve never paid her much mind, but she did have her day. It’s gone. I wonder if the book has any redeeming value. I could be an interesting read considering she was unique for the time, but if she fell into a tell all mode — disappointing.

What is it with you and witches?

    Love the irony post above.

  • Baba Wawa had an affair? Shocking! Now, if only Gilda Radner were still around to put her own spin on it.

Sen. Brooke was, and probably remains, a very decent man. He was too black, too dignified, too Republican for the people of massholechusetts and his reward was to be replaced. Trivia question: who replaced him?

    hey… where’s my “little picture”?

ps: would love to comment on the irony, above, but. …

  • I love irony –  — above.

I’ve returned just in time for he “E” awards.

    Black Tie?

  • Holy shit, this new layout rocks, who did it, where’d you get it and may I say, I’d give you a triple E!

  • Sorry you turned off your comments on the recent post. Radical lady I never heard of — of course, I never espoused much of the phil. she obviously carries on her sleeve.

ERA — there is a topic of the 1970’s — was before my time in the arguments put forth. Granted, anytime the government approves or disapproves of a certain idea, there is always an attempt by it to insert or delete from the legislation, something of unique value.

I am sure she’ll get the irony you are speaking of…and hate it.

But I think anytime people consciously label you liberal, conservative, radical or extremist, you have an uphill battle to win over in any discussion your most polar opposite. (Not that you can, or will, usually.) Since I have moved left — not to the last house — I find more problems with certain people (that I used to talk to more openingly) than I use to.

Price you pay I guess for your positions.

  • I thought the “irony” post was funny.

To see Barbara Walters, and I’ve only seen her on the commercials, acting like a little school girl is ICKY.

A woman with the reputation she has, or had, she would have been better to shut up to keep it intact.

i don’t mean her affair damaging her reputation, just to make it clear, I mean talking about it damages her reputation.

    This does rock. Wow.

I bet you hate it too, all that light. LOL

  • Cooper, I read your “about” page way back when, and even again on the day I posted about the blog; I was just be facetious since its not really a themed blog; but more random.

    LOL @ Bah..brah

  • Cooper, when you turn off your comments, I just come on down to the next post. Does that make me crafty or just a royal pain in the ass? Yanno, I saw this blog theme and thought about it for about two seconds before moving on. Totally surprised to see it here, but that’s not saying much. Heard Bah-bruh on Op-rah yesterday with my mom and wondered how many times she’s had her face done. I couldn’t help but think the entire thing had been practiced down to the very last blink. Then she was on NPR this morning at about 6…What is up with the whole celeb autobio? Who cares?

  • I actually love the graphics. though I’m thinking about changing the hues, and even dabbled in it in black and white.

This is a very old theme from type-pad I think, ported to WP and recently updated. the older version didn’t work well with updated WP installations, so I thought I ‘d give it a try. to light up my life and all that .…;)

    I’m kind of liking it.,

  • Typepad, huh? Go figure. It’s growing on me and as I continue the monumental waste of time looking for a theme, you’ve inspired me to think about something way different…Thanks!
