Hottest Comment System
I’ve added threaded comments which has disallowed the plug-in which lets you to edit your comment over a certain period of time, for some reason they do not work together.
I’m not sure which is better the ability to edit your comments, or my ability to respond individually to the comments.
I’ve always found it a little annoying to have to respond in one large comment to everyone, though it does cut back on having a ton of separate comments it’s less personal, and this will also provide those commenting with an easier way to respond to each other - when what I write is less enthralling than the comments - eh, it happens.
The only problem is the comment count goes up with my comments, and
many like the ability to edit for those spelling and grammar mistakes made when commenting quickly while grabbing that tofu burger during the fifteen minutes of lunch time.
I’m torn.
I’m going to try this out for s bit.
What strikes your comment bone as the hottest comment system.
Feel free to practice.

I’m just happy to be here. I keep getting accused by your host of malicious intent.
I have my malicious intent radar set on high.
Ew..I can see the gravatar thing is going to be an issue with this.
“I have my malicious intent radar set on high.”
That is good to know. I just wanted to try this out.
Malicious intent brings comments to a whole new level
I’m just proud you did an entire coherent post on comments. Some of us (me) are unable to do that. Takes a blogger’s blogger to do it.
Sad isn’t it?
i think threaded comments work better on certain layouts. like yours, for example. of course, i’m raising my hand and doing a dance with regard to the reply-to-all-in-a-large-chunk comment. old habits die hard, as i’ve been doing that since 2004. and because i do reply to all, it would multiply my post’s actual comment count by two, thereby adding more scroll time. however, threaded comments are almost heartbreakingly convenient.
incidentally, i almost never edit comments i leave. it’s a guilty pleasure not to practice self-editing–it makes me more vigilant about what i say and how i say it.
there’s a notification that says i have 15 minutes to fix my comment. your plugin works! or does it?
you’re adorable, btw.
and my comment is now tri-level.
Using what little self restraint I have I am not going to comment separately to all yor comments.
I am not sure if I will like this, as on certain days it could become a large issue though I actually had a hard time if I had to comment to ten people in one batch because I have to scroll back anyway in order to remember what they said.
Tri-level is impressive. I would expect nothing less from you.
Adorable,I do believe you are the first person who has ever bestowed that title upon me.
I still have the same two comment systems I’ve always had. They were both so nice, I just kept them both.
I’m basically the Archie when it comes to comment systems.
Mojo: The Archie… so true, and not just regarding the comment situation either.
This works for me. :}
Well then, that settles it.
Works fine.I tried it above - the thread aspect -. I have the ability to edit too. Fifteen minutes to come to my senses if in a fit of rage, due to something you wrote, I respond less than diplomatically.
I don’t think you have ever posted with a significant degree of emotion so I think you’re safe.
I am still on Blogger… but seeing that I am largely a non-blogging blogger these days I try to not be too picky… though I am by nature and so can empathize with your dilemma.
Either way, I am here for you and happy for your words no matter how they make their sweet way on over!
If I were you, as unable to blog as you are, and after that last spectacular batch.I’d start a free WordPress blog just for your vids. They use the 2.5.1 and it is so easy to just as the you tube vid just by clicking in the address.
Oooh! The fabulous pixie poet is right! Still have time to fix the comment!
I kinda like it…might try it over at my spot…
It is better for responding directly to someone, for sure.
Are you using “Brian’s Threaded Comments”? That’s what I use, and I like it — but it definitely doesn’t play well with others. It wants to take over your comment template, and it uses div class names that are pretty generic and can conflict with class names used elsewhere in your template. To get your comment editing back you’ll probably have to analyze the code from your old comment.php and merge some of the logic into the one provided by Brian’s. Not a terribly user-friendly experience.
In other words, if you are not technically inclined - moi, you would have to do a fresh install of WP to get rid of it????
