Res ipsa loquitur
Sundays are always such a bitch?
It’s pouring here, thunder unending, and cool, much cooler than when I took my three hour run early Saturday morning. I’ve had a graciously peaceful weekend. The days were full of work, but without a disturbing force of any kind except for the thunder, the only real noise this afternoon other than the din of the traffic on the street below, minimal due to the dark sky and the intermittent deluge.
No Life of Pi here, I’ve been doing grad school work most of the weekend, except for the run, a dinner out, and a three in the morning viewing of the IFC Grindhouse Cinema Series. This week, This Night I’ll Possess Your Corpse, a José Mojica Marins, screen name Zé do Caixão (in English, Coffin Joe) film. Atheism, and a contempt for the supernatural rolled into a kicker cult-ish 1966 film, all part of what is known as The Coffin Joe Trilogy.

The trilogy includes what is considered the first Brazilian horror film, At Midnight I’ll Take Your Soul (À Meia-Noite Levarei Sua Alma) 1963 - from whence the Coffin Joe name originated, This Night I’ll Possess Your Corpse (Esta Noite Encarnarei no Teu Cadáver) 1966, and the final installment The Embodiment of Evil (Encarnacao do Demonio) 2006.
That’s the all of it. Res ipsa loquitur.
Sunday evening announcements:
If you are a twenty-something, and belong to twenty-something bloggers, don’t forget to submit to the Blog Carnival 3rd Edition. The theme is “Tests”, submissions due April 30th. The submit link is here. Tipp will take inquiries at tipptalk@gmail.com. If you’re not a member, join up.
If this blog goes down it’s because that little notice which appears constantly on my dashboard (A new version of WordPress is available! Please update now ) finally got to me.
I hope to have a new famer this week, and for those of you who email me constantly about how you should be famous, please feel free to write a post about why, and maybe we’ll list you under “those who think they should be famous”. Fame doesn’t come easy, which is why the posts there are so sparse.
I’ve started a blog using my very first domain name, nowickedwitch. It’s at a free host called baywords. You can take a look. Do not cringe, it’s almost easier to have four than to have one. Ask Quilly and OC.
Peace

Dominos etvo bitcum etcum spiri tu tu o!
kak: That looks way too much like most of the spam, and spam comments I get. ;)Makes me want a Pizza though.
The new version of WP is fun once I got used to it
Is there a secret code to your new blog, shameless one?
Pia: I have it on the “Should Be Famous” Blog but haven’t switched this one yet as I’m not sure the theme will work, and I like this current theme.
CODE?
No just click on the link. If you want to post your useless memes, or level of hotness, I will add you as a user and you can have at it. lol
Ahh… to be twenty-something and a blogger…
Congratulations on the blog (you can now add it to ‘Cooper also blogs at’ list). I’m starting to suffer from the same multiple personality disorder, but that’s just because I’m trying to learn about the evil ways of domaining.
I wanted to say hi on the other site but it asked me to register. Hey, I’m no telling you what to do.
PITS:
Ah, that is what pia meant maybe. I’ll have to go check it out. I may have set it wrong. As for being TWENTY…
In youth and beauty, wisdom is but rare!
Hey, I’m a twenty-something blogger! I’m not saying twenty-something of what … and no, it’s not blogs. That’s Quilly’s department.
A pizza?
With all the hacking of WordPress blogs that’s been going on this past week or so, I’m glad we’re on plain old wordpress.com. All the weeping, wailing, and gnashing of teeth by people who have (or had) custom domains gives me the willies.
Also visited nowickedwitch intending to leave a calling card. It’s here instead. Call me just another registratophobe.
I understand that people who actually live with tarantulas have little fear of them. Centipedes, now, that’s different.
Thanks for the link and stumble!
Amoeba: I just figured out I had that registration thing on. I have not spent much time there. I am a busy person. Though one would hardly know it by the number of blogs I have. But you know how that is….;)
Thanks for making me guilty…
1. Three hours running. Bought new running shoes a month ago. Yet to go for a run since I bought them.
2. Four blogs. I couldn’t keep 3 going… Had to merge them all.
But at least it didn’t rain here ;)
Can’t wait for your next post. Have a great week - if we don’t “speak” before then.
Scared me for a minute. On first glance I thought the picture was you.
No Wicked Witch. Those were to good old days.
Not.
I’ve never seen a José Mojica Marins film. I don’t speak Portuguese, and dislike reading subtitles. Looks kind of interesting though.
Angry African: Running is like breathing for me though, so it isn’t much of a stretch. I wilt when I don’t run. As for the blogs, I’ve been blogging a long time, they are like a cigarette break for one who doesn’t smoke, it almost easier to do more than less. The newer one may not work out, but we must go forward, and have a place for our junk.
G:
I don’t speak Portuguese either, believe it or not. ;)
Now come on, you know had it been me it would have been a snake. Though they did have snakes in that film as well.
I barely have time to do one blog. I don’t know how you have time for four, Miss Cooper.
3 hour run, rain, lightening, thunder… it’s surprising you didn’t end up as a castaway with Gilligan.
meow.
I can’t even do one, I’ve taken to Lacrosse polls.
I am going to be playing on a mens lax team - lax for beer - starting in a couple of weeks. I started my run/workout last week. I then put it on hold until I got some new running shoes.
Three hours Cooper! I am duly impressed. But since I am no longer twenty-something, I still perch my hour and a half runs on high. :D
It’s still thundering, lightening and pouring rain here. I actually find solace in it.
“it’s almost easier to have four than to have one”
I don’t believe it! HA!
Nice spider. And you’re forcing me to remember all those nights in junior high watching bad horror movies with my best friend. As far as being famous goes, I’ll make like a spectator. I like the view.
mojo: It’s all in the stroke of the keys my friend.
SK: Who?
Just kidding.
Casey: humm. So you have.
Sheila: I only do three hours runs on the weekends and it was a rare nice Saturday. Now I just need a tennis parter.
kellypea: My one - ok tenth - weakness. Weird early horror films.
There’s nothing like a good old fashion cult Brazilian horror flick….;)
I’m so close to a twenty-something I’m almost there.
Ah, to be able to articulate all that is on my mind like some of the bloggers I read are able to. A gift that would be.
jacob: Nice to see you back. You are not much past I think.
