Wonderland or Not

Not Poe’s Madness, but Mine.

A Tribute to a Night of Deadly Boredom, or Bored to Death

The large screen glistened
vivid and moving
like light on water
at the end of the day
from end to end, tall bodies
dynamic, back and forth
no moment motionless
in the glass
of the low lit room
chromatic discordant groans
spasmodically breaking silence
steaming sweating men, in suits
in the glass
raging, then not
the madness ends now
easing out of my boredom
with the ten’s, and thirteen’s
in Tampa
leave now, or sleep
in the guest room
come back tomorrow
we’ll do it again

Sorry, I prefer surfing to basketball, but it’s hards to get a group together to sit around and watch a surfing championship series.

Peace

We can fix that. Out here, the adness … er, um, madness is all over before the work day ends. And there’s plenty of people to go watch surfing. Live.

I’d love to tell you “surf’s up”, but the forecast says no. Sorry …

UMBC, lost no surprise. The games in Tampa were pretty sweet.

I think it’s madness to surf.

I too relish such frequent boredom and dream, of oceans washing over beach sands under a sunny day… but Mr. Harry the Pomeranian hops on twos at my knee wanting outside to pee. - tee-hee

Happy Bleaster

Would you consdier a poem on Golf? If you were bored by the basketball you would do wonders with golf. ;)

My husband watched. I went upstairs and did vampire stuff . . . um, research. Showed him your poem — he liked it.

I disconnected my TV last month, so I’m only getting the Madness in small doses as background viewing at the local bar. I used to follow the whole thing, but it’s hard to be passionate about such distractions these days. Plus, I’m hanging out with folks who are more apt to gather for election coverage these days. Oh, and I like the poem too :).

At least you were sitting around doing as you please. I was serving drinks to the drunk Madness viewers, and preventing some guy from hitting another over the head with a bottle.

I get to “do it again” too.

Happy Easter Cooper. I don’t celebrate it either, but my family does. I have to go get some grocery store flowers, and drive two hours to my parent’s to eat pork.

There will be basketball.

AMOEBA: Wouldn’t matter, it’s not up here. Can’t surf on land. I can’t at least.

laketrees: I hope you had a great Easter Kim.

caseyL yada yada, Georgetown lost today as well, sort of a surprise, but I do love underdogs.

Bennett: You have a Pomeranian?

Jacob: Watching golf is quite tedious, playing it is not so bad really.

sandra: lol, ah those basketball people. I check in for the endings.

Francis: I know what you mean. For me people usually entranced with the political scene were in a basketball rapture of sorts this weekend.

G: at least you’re finally working.

kait: eww…pork..the other white meat. Good Luck with that.
