The Atlantic dot com, allowing free open access to formerly subscription only online content, not sure if I will subscribe to the paper version still, though I do so love the covers. Now no one has to miss the Surfing in Munich slideshow or article Munich’s Malibu.
Political piranha that I am, with blog endorsements being all the rage, and WLON having endorsed so early as to make the power of my endorsement insignificant, I decided to do another endorsement this week. I endorsed Doug of Waking Ambrose Fame, over at Should Be Famous, go check it out.
We also have a new header image artist of the week over there, some images from Kyle Bellamy.
I’m normal most of the time. It’s hard to believe I know, but I did watch the end of the Super Bowl, if only to watch Tom Petty, who wasn’t all that, though I still love him.
Yeah, I’m almost normal, though not given to sentiment or foolishness I sometimes listen to dorky overly Dashboard Confessionalistic songs because someone used to sing them to me.
I was excited when Christine reminded me of the Yael Naim song below. I’d saved a link to it I’d gotten at Aurgasm and forgot about it, Christine’s post prompted me to purchase NewSoul.
Hey don’t worry I’m still cool , I’m ripping “Orphans: Brawlers, Bawlers and Bastards” to my to my computer as I type.
Other than that I have no time to breath these days.
Happy Super Tuesday

If I hadn’t been in an office pool, I wouldn’t have watched the game at all. Everyone knows that baseball’s the real sport and the Red Sox are the only team in New England worth watching. LOL
Laissez les bonnes temps roullez!
You have a normal? Thanks for the endorsement. This isn’t just an honor for me, it really represents an endorsement of all who serve as precinct clerks on election day.
I’m just the only one can read it without glasses and not knitting a shawl.
You endorsed my favorite Dawg–and yes you gave him that name
This is by David Brooks not one of my favorites but is interesting and the title alone makes it worth it–the Cooper conderns

It’s happy super Tuesday to me because the schools are closed for voting here and I’m off because of it.
I voted early.
I always liked Dashboard Confessionalistic music. ;)
I’m with you on that. Time’s been thin this past month. Mainly the only blogging I’ve accomplished has been via laptop during classes. (I learn more from the books usually, critical discussion seems mostly lacking in 300 level classes) Then again, you spoke recently on your masters level isolation, so maybe that never changes? Stick with it sister.
I endorse you.
Never heard Yael Naim, nice poppy little song. My girlfriend loves “Plain White T’s”. I tried to tell her they have been around awhile, but she insists on thinking they are her discovery.
Try to I’ll even click on some ads for them.
If you sign up for an eBay account you can get Salon, I think it is, free as well.
About the “normal” thing…….
You like Tom Waits? That is so cool. I’m happy to hear that. Swordfishtrombones is one of my favorite albums of all time, and Bone Machine and Mule Variations aren’t far behind. I hardly ever meet anyone who listens to/can handle that stuff. You made my day. Next I’m gonna find out you’re a closet Captain Beefheart fan. :}
I saw “The Atlantic” had removed it’s subscription requirement for it’s online content, good move.
I know I’m getting old because both of those songs above are soothing to me.
Normal is a term which one can never truly define. I doubt you’re close to it. :)
Tom Petty really didn’t do so hot on the biggest stage. (In my brief watching, since I was doing the dishes, he had “no life.” He was as interesting as watching paint dry or eating the paint chips.)
I enjoy listening to him. Into the Great Wide Open, American Girl, Mary Jane’s Last Dance, etc. are good cuts.
I guess the word “getting old” applies to him. Now if the Stones take the hint and stay off the stage. (Don’t ruin a great career by doing bad gigs.)
mojo: Baseball is definitely not my thing.
Doug: I wish they would. ha, ha, The pollsters here are ancient as well, though last time there were some young-uns around. I hope you get a break for dinner.
Pia: How could I not endorse the Dawg.
Dave: Time being thin is something I think will balance out, maybe but yea I was told going in that some aspects of it all was rather isolating. You hang in there as well.
john: Thanks for the endorsement, my first.
kait: I wasn’t opposed to it really. lol
Good I hope you voted correctly. ;)
ID: I had to borrow this last set from a friend to put it back on my new computer s all my stuff disappeared with a still dead hard drive on the old one.
jacob: And when you were young they would have repulsed you right?
Jason: I love watching old clips and I have a compilation of his I love, he was not all that on stage, that is for sure.
Well, I voted for the WLON-endorsed candidate. Apparently not often enough.
After that check I wrote you, I expected more.
I enjoy seeing a glimpse of your youth.
Meaning that there are times when you appear so much older than you are, then I find a sentence, or a idea, or just an aura of your true age.
I listen to so little music these days, I’ve taken to audio books when flying.
I like the lighter stuff when I’m not in the mood to do anything but “mind wander”.
Tom Waits, never got to far in to him, maybe it’s time for a recheck.
I tuned in for Tom Petty too.
I was a little disappointed, but hey I guess you can’t rock all the time.
Enjoy the Tom Waits…thats a good one.
And boy do I feel ya on the no time to breath…hope you find a little free time!
joe: Why did my youth go somewhere? ;)
Vanessa: You too “oh rarely seen much missed” one.
