Wonderland or Not

This is the first February 29th for this blog. I began at blog­ger in Novem­ber of 2004, mis­sing the leap by many months. If this is to be one of many leap year posts, or the sole leap year post for “won­der­land or not”, I can’t say, but I thought it was worth men­tio­ning. His­to­ri­cal docu­men­ta­tion, and all that.

I’m on break. I will be wor­king, but I am off offi­cial aca­de­mic ins­truc­tion for the week. I will be sit­ting around in this very apart­ment with a few friends on Tues­day watching the elec­tion returns. There will pro­bably be beer invol­ved. Just thought I would give you fair war­ning.

Politics:

The only thing I really want to know, beside when this very expen­sive war is going to end, is when is the price of aspa­ra­gus, toma­toes and let­tuce going down? How about gas? I drive forty-five minu­tes to school, four days a week, in a gas effi­cient vehicle, and the gas pri­ces are killing me?

Besi­des how can I ride around in my hypothe­ti­cal con­ver­ti­ble, with the top down sho­wing off my per­fectly toned arms and nice teeth, when all I can afford to eat is high fruc­tose corn syrup based pro­ducts which will soon rot my teeth, and add some serious fat cells to my arms, not to men­tion my ass.

Women’s Voi­ces: Women Vote: A web site with “one goal in mind: Impro­ving unma­rried women’s par­ti­ci­pa­tion in the elec­to­rate and policy pro­cess”, is cele­bra­ting “Womens His­tory Month” with a Female Blog­ger Con­test to honor women who have uti­li­zed the inter­net to amplify their voices.

I recei­ved an email today telling me I had been nomi­na­ted. If you know a female blog­ger who is using her voice in regard to poli­tics, policy, society, using her voice to dis­cuss something besi­des her, per­fect no mat­ter what size, ass, (which I honestly only do when I have nothing else to write about), you can nomi­nate her via clic­king the graphic of the very joy­ful loo­king woman on my side­bar for the weekend.
