One Snowy Day.

The world is with me on this one.

* “It’s stunning to watch. The various spurts of venom aimed at Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are, at best, scattershot and convulsive, with only MSNBC’s Chris Matthews proving himself to be a consistent blowhard jackass in his relentless slamming of Hillary by claiming that she made it this far only due to adultery-survivor sympathy. Hey, Chris, 2001 called. It wants its sexist analysis back. Thank you.” — Mark Morford, “A black or female president? It’s the perfect liberal storm,” The San Francisco Chronicle, January 16, 2008

As I said, this fuels the fire which will elect this woman, because woman who would not usually vote for her are finding the incendiary commentary more problematic than the state of the country, and the fear of dynastic control of our government by those who will continue to be bought by the highest bidder or those whose ambition far outweigh their desire to serve.

We not only need to eradicate those like Matthews, we need to abate the media’s control in choosing the candidates, just as we need to halt purchased candidacies..

Until then Jason’s line still applies. I won’t post it again as some people, those who have not been reading me as long as other, were a little disconcerted by the quote.

My advice for the day:

Do not drive the beltway, or the north corridor of route 270, with someone whose driving habits you are unfamiliar with.

For now, this is snowman making weather, and I’m exhausted.

I had to find that quote because I remember when it happened I thought it was the day the world got a little bit more insane:

“MATTHEWS: Who would win a street fight? Rudy Giuliani — just think of a street fight now over in Queens somewhere. It’s a dark night, it’s about 2 in the morning. Two guys are out behind the building, right? On a vacant lot. Rudy Giuliani or President Ahmadinejad, who would win that fight?” (borrowed from here).

He asked a Giuliani guy this question, and the guy thought Matthews was joking, but when he realized he wasn’t he came back with a “Giuliani will win that fight.” And that was it. Insane.

I’ve had my head so buried in the Australian Open Cooper that I was just reading about jackass Chris Matthew’s remark about Hillary Clinton. This man is truly ill. To even consider uttering such a vile statement is incomprehensible, especially since he’s only doing it for ratings. I’m going back to the Open, the political world requires too much of my emotion….I’m mad as I write this.

PITS: inane FOR SURE PITS. Giuliano would have run like the twerp he is. ;0

Sheila: And I am thankful for you doing that, as I need only to go to one place to get my results.

He’s such a jackass, I really need to stop talking about him, but I’ve been bugged since I was 19, after having been treated in a very strange, sexist and demeaning way by a few men, some older but some not so much, most way stupider than myself, in real life and on blog sites - and Matthews personifies those men. I have nothing but contempt for those types of men. Which sadly is a majority of them, as I see it anyway.

I like to do the driving, it’s safer.

I just read the referenced post - right on. I said it there and would say it here but the one above me already did.

I’m stealing the c’est la vie picture. I’m back in Ohio, if only temporarily, the way things go here it always applies.

Between you and Rilokiley.net’s ongoing debate I’m learning a lot more about this election than I usually get from the staid newscasts. It’s funny how all the “important” facts I receive are usually from people who aren’t paid to have an opinion and how much more I learn from people like you than the professionals.

There are so many goddamn ways to tear Hillary apart. Why oh why oh why the hemorrhaging fuck does he have to pick the way that’s going to make a martyr of her? Almost makes you wonder if he actually wants her to win this or something.

I never thought I would use the word “blissful” to describe my lack of cable tv.

There are some youtube videos floating around of conversations that have been picked up by satellite feeds. Stuff that is technically “off-air,” but satellite feeds are always on. In these videos you can see chilling conversations that take place. One in particular is Bill Clinton talking to Ted Turner like Ted is just some subordinate lackey. The Clintons have powerful media connections, and access to BILLIONS of dollars in liquid capital. I would not be surprised if the attacks were actually staged and intended to boost Hillary, and in some way strategic.

The world would be stupid otherwise.
Something a bout the word jackass which just rings true.

The presidency is bought making it all seem pointless at times.

Gotta love the lines.

G: I prefer to drive myself as well.

Cool for you. I think.

MoJo: Well I’m glad you are reading, even if it gives you a couple of yawns.

EW: Blissful it is. I honestly despise all the campaigning and the money spent by the people who are purchasing out next president. Almost makes me want to watch American Idol.

I miss you ew.

Doug: Something rather naughty came to mind. Abatement won.

DaveJ: All powerful and brilliant people act that way, but it scares me how owned everything is, it should scare every one.

john: Rings true, is true. He made some kind of statement on his asshole-ishness last night.

You know how I feel. Just stopping by, during my respite from clearing the drive, to say hello. I’m going to catch up with all your blogs tonight.

Nice picture/words. Makes it easy to reference.

I have been too focused on the economy to really pay attention to the heads and politics of running for President. (Sad really.)

But we got plenty of time to hear more from the big boys in this race.

Speaking of which, just an assessment, who among the Republicans can:

1) Win the nomination
2) Would be a tough national candidate for Obama or Clinton
3) Is someone that if you got stuck with, you could live with

Just your thoughts. Have a safe, and road worry free weekend.

Getting my Hilary news lately from you and the Daily Show. I’ve debated the Hilary issue with everyone from neighbors (Obama and Guiliani supporters) to my mom (she hates them all). People are deeply suspicious of the Clintons and Hilary, in particular. With my more liberal friends, I’m more concerned with a certain smugness re. the upcoming elections: they’re so sure of a Dem win that I fear we may be in for a big surprise.

People were disconcerted by Jason’s line?

I did post about Hillary for many reasons though I prefer to leave politics out and got into a an email thread with somebody who had been supporting her

I think Sandra’s right. We are becoming smug. All my friends joke about South Carolina of course and how I will be one of four true Democrats. Tomorrow better shut them up

If Rudy were still a viable serious candidate I would devote my life to seeing everything about him debunked

I hope to be finished with the apartment renovation by 2/5–super Tuesday and New York’s primary–and I wouldn’t miss it for anything–then hope there’s still an apartment market in NY

People aren’t taking the downturn in the economy as seriously as they should. It’s bad, we’re stuck with Bernake–Bush’s choice and he’s an idiot

I’m surprised but not shocked that Democrats aren’t screaming about how the economy always recedes in a Repub admin

Know every stimulation plan–none take into account how much has changed so fast

Bloomberg can come out of nowhere with “look what I did for NY after 9/11″ not talking the stupid hero stuff and people might buy it

They will have to hear from all of us who can’t afford to live here anymore but hey people never think it can happen to them until it does

He can be this election’s Nader and Nader was the real cause of the stolen election

Once again I have written a post in your comments

I cannot wait for Stupid Tuesday to come and go. The same can be said about Huckabee. Ron Paul is off the radar and I hope Huckabee soon joins him in irrelevancy.

What the heck is Rudy G. doing? Is there some reason he’s gone AWOL from the race?

I am done with Clintons and Bushes. Enough of the backbiting and bitterness already. Time for change in that direction. Obama is looking better and better all the time. Now, if the race is still on come PA’s 4/22 primary, then my day will be made. Unfortunately, the county DemCom is full of Clinton adorers.

Driving is a must. Not because of some control issue but because I make a lousy passenger. I drive, she sleeps, the others watch a movie, and all is just hunky-dory in the world.

January 20, 2009 cannot come soon enough.

I met Mark Morford. Suffice it to say that his written body of work are things of beauty but his words now ring hollow after having met the man.

I was hugely unimpressed.

I read him no longer.

“…we need to abate the media’s control in choosing the candidates, just as we need to halt purchased candidacies.”

Totally agreed. Watching the news, you can’t help but feel sometimes as if being caught up in a one way spin tunnel.

As for the comment, I can’t believe someone as experienced would go that far.

jacob: A picture speaks.

Jason P: I pay very little attention to the Republican because quite frankly the whole anti-choice thing eradicates even an inkling of interest. There might be a piece of them all - too bad we can’t just make our own president from little pieces of the whole bunch of them or maybe pieces of something totally different.

sandra: I know exactly what you mean. One never knows and one should never assume.

Pia: I think the “motherfucker” part, for some…
art in words is my take though.

Rudy is like a caricature these days.

sk: I wish the nation would be done with the Clintons and the Bushes.
I’m a pretty bad passenger as well.

MizzyB: I’m not surprised I see his picture there all the time and the pose is one of a real dick, his were just the first of many words on this subject at “Media Matters”.

Hey hey - he teaches yoga???? I just read that. You will have to email me more on that.

jollyjo: So let us all do it?

jolly, thanks for stopping by.
