Sand Through a Looking Glass

January 6th, 2008 by cooper

Egotistically motivated, this blog will, proceed, sometimes relevant, always full of self significance, yet never using fallacious or demeaning logic.

I know most of you could care less about politics. I care, so I will continue to write about it, as I see it — through the eyes of a twenty-two year old grad student, one who voted the minute she was able, and who will vote until she is laying in a hospital bed unconscious, on oxygen, intravenously and willingly having her ninety six year old life extended by the most profitable — to pharmaceutical companies — state of the art drug on the market.

I will continue to write bad poetry, sometimes silly posts about my mother, sexist pigs I have met, and events in my daily life. All things I need to spit out in order to go on, or things which I need to reinterpret through those who comment. You dear reader.

I’ve been doing this far too long to stop now.

This blog is my perpetual vacation,

I ask of those of you I read routinely, and you would by now know who you are because if I have commented I already read you routinely.

Full Feeds please. I read you all on my reader during the day, this makes it easier to read everyone and then comment later that night when home.

Please consider writing a post for Should Be Famous. I probably should not have started that blog so close to heading into school, obviously I wasn’t thinking clearly, either way it’s there, and will continue.

This post made me laugh out loud

Politics, bad poetry and silly mother posts are three of my favorite things.

I’m always beginning things just when I shouldn’t.

I had twelve hours of sleep last night and woke up in love with blogging. I would be happy to write several posts for Should be famous

I say that after having enough sleep and not having seen the contractor in three days

  2. Adrian KeysNo Gravatar says:

Made me laugh too. Was the timing with the New Year’s resolutions deliberate?

  3. mojo shiversNo Gravatar says:

I think I’m on full feed. I’d have to check. Most of the time I read everyone the old-fashioned way by going to the actual site so I’m not too clear how my feed looks.

As for writing for Should Be Famous, I’d be willing to write something if my assistance is both necessary and acceptable.

  4. Dave JNo Gravatar says:

Part of the confusion might be the number of feeds you have available. I just checked through Bloglines, where I have had you subscribed for around a year now, and it shows you having 7 different feeds. I’m not really sure at this point which of those seven I am subscribed to, or whether it is set to full or not…

  5. jakeNo Gravatar says:

I’m always up for a good sexist pig story.

Not sure what kind of feed I have at all. I’ll check on that. I don’t write enough for it to matter much.

If I run into someone who should be famous I’ll write something up and send it to you. I read a few well known blogs but once in awhile I come across someone new.

  6. DougNo Gravatar says:

Um, Cooper? Do I have a full feed? If not, how do I get one? I want to comply.

  7. jacobNo Gravatar says:

I am not signed up with feed burner or any of those things, so if I am not full let me know. I had to look up full feed.

Good luck, I know you work and study hard, but do not ever forget to play as hard, if not as often. You’ve been writing some pretty substantial stuff for the last six months, you’ll be fine.

There will be times when your head will almost explode, you will want to throw the books and papers out the window and sleep for a week.

I will be here for you.

    This too will pass.

  8. So glad that you’re sticking around. Don’t know what I’d do without you, babes.

as always, tell me what you want of me.

Hey Cooper — your blog keeps me going — I appreciate your clarity more than you know, and apparently so do a lot of others. I will get you some “Should Be Famous” stuff as soon as I can get from under my crushing load.

pia: If I can make you laugh I’ve done my job. I’d love twelve hours of sleep. I think I’m going to ttry to grab it this weekend as it i wll be my last for some time.
So your nightmares are contractual? ;)

Adrian: No it was happenstance, sometimes things just work out that way.

mojo: You are on my home page which is not full feed, but I’m changing everyone to my reader, and as I look you are full feed. One of the few.

If you have some fab blogs which you’d feel should be famous…in a good or bad way feel free to email me. I will sign you up as sbf-crew mojo or Patrick the other one… and give a password via your email and then you can change your password –author privileges to post it yourself.

Dave: I was actually talking about yoou r feeds not mine, but yea it because my blog used to be on blogspot and was redirected via wondelrandornot.com, I’ll have to do something about that, except I can’t get technorati to take me out of their system so it screws up bloglines.

    jake: You feed is fine.

Doug: As usual you are compliant.Though for some reason I didn’t think you were before.

jake: wordpress blogs seem to be ok.

Wombat: You can do many things. ;)
You are on charge, I’m on leave.

I hope to have some online time Wed or Thurs, meet me in St Louis.

I may not read your posts every day or even every week but I never will nor have I yet been able to forget about you regardless of how political.
You’re the only person that make politics seem cool in my mind.
As long as you post, I’ll always come back to read and truly think about it.

As for your “Should Be Famous” I thought about it but realized I don’t know which aspect I should be famous for.
Although I love my privacy very very very much.

Lately I’ve been so fascinated with science.
Unlike the the crappy past Hollywood movie scenarios I believe advanced artificial intelligence would run this country far better than the politicians with bribed bureaucratic special interests , and that’s only my opinion.

    Way out there, I know.

  12. BennetNo Gravatar says:

    bureaucratic puppets, too…

    yeah. k

  13. Miz BoheMiaNo Gravatar says:

I ditto Pia… laughin’ and lovin’ the typical you parts of your posts, politics ‘n all…

I am a mere cast member of the Vagina Monologues, which will have its opening night in the Castro Theatre and which our producer, the only male on board, is hoping to have be a HUGE tihng so we want our politicians and whatnot involved. None of us are getting paid for it as it’s a part of Vday and all proceeds will go to some anti-rape and child abuse charities and rights groups here in the city… and so though all I need to do is rehearse and perform I cannot sit back and be idle and today I called my District Supervisor, the only Green Party member of our SF board of supervisors and a totally amazing man, Ross Mirkarimi, whom I once met and filmed, and he called me back! I missed his call DAMMIT but he left me his direct line and I left him a message there and all along I thought of you, that if anyone understood this insane need to be involved, ‘twould be you… and in Lil’ B I have a Cooperina in the making… she has been pretty vociferous about our need to vote and during our local elections checked and double checked to see if we did just that so… yeah…

Write for Should be Famous? Hmmm…

And wait, am I still a read o’ yours? Cheeky bohemian parlor tricks… oh…

Be well Cooperina and keep on keeping on…

  14. mojo shiversNo Gravatar says:

Yeah, I tried out some feed readers today. It goes back a few posts, and, aside from the videos not translating over, all the posts are pretty much 1:1 what you see on the actual site. I might have to actually get in on this reader stuff.

  15. laketreesNo Gravatar says:

    Witty post Cooper !
I enjoy reading your posts just as much as the comments here.…
somewhat of a running commentary (which is rare).…
I have a feed through feedburner and I’m 99% sure that it’s a full feed …as for mine I prefer to look at the sites.…
especially when they are good to look at.…
I suppose it’s to be expected …being an artist and all…

  16. cooperNo Gravatar says:

Bennet: You’re probably right on the AI point of view it’s still a little frightening. Maybe I’m watching the wrong Science Fiction movies.;)

Mizzy B: That is awesome mizzy b, I would love to see that. Is someone going to film it?

    Always on my reader.

You be well miz star of film and stage bohemia.

mojo: I usually use it to read if I am at work or only have a limited amount of time, I usually go to the site later in the evening or night, and comment. It allows for me to read more.

laketrees: I prefer to look at them too, but while busy as I will be in grad school, a reader allows me to read more, and as I said above later in the evening or night when I go to the sites to comment I will already have thought about the post in order to post a response.

  17. Miz BoheMiaNo Gravatar says:

Loverboy probably will though it will take a lot for me to post it. I do ok seeing myself in family vids but I get badly nauseous at the sight of myself performing. Maybe I will make you a little private copy if I cannot stomach myself!

And PS… I finally talked to Supervisor Mirkarimi and we are to meet up for coffee… I LOVE SF!

    :)

  18. gNo Gravatar says:

Better you than me. I’m taking two years off.
I’ll catch up with you, maybe write something.I read a lot of fishing blogs and websites. ;)

  19. kaitNo Gravatar says:

This has been fun for me for s long time, ya know I’ll be around.

I’m a fashion freak, always have been. As time allows I’ll send you some sites I like and a little write up if you choose to use them that would be cool.
I have till next September to chill out and work, then I’ll be in the same boat more or less.

  20. kellypeaNo Gravatar says:

Hey Cooper…I think I’m non-compliant. I’ve been letting everything go until I get a new skin and well…my part time job has turned into a full time job. Jeez. At least I don’t have to use my brain. And I AM interested in politics, your writing about politics, and all the other stuff you write about. Sleep is highly overrated. Keep on bloggin’.

  21. cooperNo Gravatar says:

Mizzy: Good I hope to see it.

    Awesome for the meet-up. Details.

    G:Sure. ;)

Kait: Sure I never read fashion site really so that might be something different.

Kelly: Sleep, I never needed much but for some reason the last month I feel like I need to sleep whenever possible.

Maybe I’m just storing it like a squirrel stores those nuts.

  22. sandraNo Gravatar says:

added the feed. Will get back to blog soon, and do something for Should be Famous. Elderly mother problems.

  23. cooperNo Gravatar says:

Sandra I look forward to it, but I meant your feed not mine.
Your feed is full though so don’t worry.

I hope things are ok with your mother and can’t wait to have you back.
