Belated Blogger-Birthdays

November 30th, 2007 by cooper

I missed my three year blogabirthday, so I’m going to note it here.

It was on the 22nd of November three years ago I wrote these stunning and prophetic words: This is my new blogging home. Hopefully I can keep it tidy yet comfortable. Thanks for coming hopefully I will be up and running soon. Of course the template was different, rather kick-ass actually, and the writing left much to be desired, but it was the birth of what you now see and read.

I’m not sure what the people who are there now use it for, looks like spam. I was sad at first but have since recovered.

Three years later I have discovered many things, one of them being I still have very little in common with people my age.

Speaking of which, for the first time I am publicly thanking the persistent hacker(s) whose work led me to leave blogger and venture into the land of the self hosted. They did this cleverly, or so I thought ( turns out it is not that hard to do, or wasn’t back then anyway), by continually replacing my template with a small page which read, use a better blogger platform, switch to WorPress. Thank You “hacker people”.

I’m going to try to get Should Be Famous off the ground this weekend. “Try” is a loaded word.

My cupboard is bare, so ta for now.

Peace.

Happy blogaversary, Cooper. From a fellow Blogger fugitive. Looks like all hell’s breaking loose over there these days, eh?

  2. Congratulations. Looks like you’ve learned a lot in the last three years. Hmm, I don’t even know how old people your age are (was that a proper sentence?). But maybe no one has anything in common with anyone. Or maybe we’re all pretty much the same. In a good way.

    Happy Blogger Birthday — belated.

There are many “your-agers” who hold the same interests as you. It’s just you have always had a larger view of things than most people.

Our age is growing older, help is on the way.

    Cool old silent film.

I should be famous, one day.

    Always thank the hackers.

Happy blog birthday, Cooper. I still have a bit to go before mine is one…Thanks for being different. Love the gas at the end of that video..it’s right up my house full of men’s alley. Oh, and my mother’s, too. Unfortunately.

I don’t remember the very first post, but I come close.
I’m commenting from somewhere dear to your heart. I think of you growing up here, and it means something that someone without a blog thinkgs of a blogger when travaling for work. Believe me when I sat that even though I speak only for myself.

    Cheerio.

Three years. You’re older than me in blog years, although less decrepit.

Happy Bloggoversary. I began mine in 8/04 but didn’t really know that people read blogs until 11/14 when I discovered why I would get ocassional comments telling me to move to France – and my favorite of the very early ones – upstate New York supports downstate New York

Soom after I made this incredible discovery that people read blogs and comment not to troll– a word I didn’t know in that context I met Doug

Rather innocently we navigated the blogging waters. I do realize innocent and Doug have never been used in the same sentence before, but…

Then we became less innocent and soon met you – think that was around May or June

I’m trying to think of something clever to say but I leave that to Doug

I couldn’t imagine the blogosphere without you – had you made this announcement on the 22nd we could have added our thanks for you at Thanksgiving and all the non bloggers at the table or everybody would have thought – gawd, she really is lost to blogging. Would have been fun.

    May you have many more.

    Publicly thanking hackers?
I know what you mean though. I like my wordpress.

I was here yesterday, enjoying so much being back, with time, or so I thought, to kick back and catch up and read you… and just as I was about to leave you a comment my BIL arrived with his girlfriend… yes, there is an in-law in the house but he is cool, unlike his parents whom I’d best not speak of lest I regress to their infamous visit and suffer a stroke… but nevertheless they took the reading pleasure that is you away from me.

    BAH!

So I am stubbornly jumping back into this post, if only to say hello, and a happy belated Blogaversary! My second year one was in October now that I think about it… huh! So two years of knowing you my dear! Cheers and here’s to many more!

I thank everyone who wished me well. I am behind for some reason. I think WordPress is eating my comments.
OC: I am glad you are a blogger fugitive, they need a smackdown though.

PTIS: I think we are all really the same age, I mean when you’re talking eons it hardly matters. Once you’ve learned to use the toilet that is.

G: Thanks, and you will I’m certain of it.

kellypea: Thanks, and *stamping foot* “I don’t wanna be different I wanna be like all the other kids”. ;)

Joe: You do come close. Thanks.

Doug: Yea, if you can call a post made and left for a couple of months my first real post but still…

Pia: Thanks for well wishes. I should be more honest and say I really didn’t start blogging until well over three or four months in or that I really didn’t start blogging until I moved to WordPress but then I’d have to question if I have really started blogging even yet.

Kait: I’d life my glass to you if I had one but it’s really late and I’m holdind a toothbrush.

    Hugs.

Mizzy B: I am well and it’s good to have you here even if you only read.

Billy: yes both the blog design and the video are brilliant.
