Light Labor Continues.

Today was easy. I have been tagged with the “five things” by the lovely at circle of women. Now I know I’ve done this before, but I also know there are at least five hundred things you don’t know about me, so we have much to cover over the next few years. You read right, years.

The first three things all fit rather compactly into one sentence. I’ve numbered them boldly for your convenience and aging eyes.

I am a 1. piscivorous 2. hoyden, 3. not prone to prodigality. If you prefer plain English, the kind we are supposed to use on blogs, I am a carefree tomboy at heart. I eat fish by the tons, and I am never wasteful or reckless.

4. Despite physics, absolute knowledge being based on conditions and all, I hold a deterministic view both culturally and philosophically. I still believe that all things are possible. I know, however, that reason gives us the best hint as to what the future actually holds. A more idealistic view superseded this philosophy, but I saw mommy kissing Santa Claus and everything changed.

5. I don’t gamble but am learning how to play poker almost as we speak, or as I write. It’s going well, but the computer breaks are annoying some people. Eh… it’s my party and I’ll surf if I want to. ;)

I tag everyone who passes here. Go directly to your blog and post five things about yourself. If you do not have a blog please feel free to email me five things. No photos please. Been there done that.

More Light Labor tomorrow. Please tune in.

Peace

  • That Santa thing changed many of us. Some for the better, some the opposite. I don’t prefer plain English. I prefer “hoyden”. A great word.
If everyone did the five thing tag this way I would learn a lot of new words.

Physics, philosophy and piscivorous do not make for “light labor”.

I might have to do this tag tommorow. The only other thing worth writing about Clay Buchholz and his no hitter.

  • Labor weekend for me. I worked until two this morning, and am heading back in a couple of hours.

I posted something or I’d do the tag. Maybe next time.
All things are possible until they aren’t. I don’t know where the line is. Better men have not found the answer.

I’ll take a hoyden to a princess any day.

  • Is there five things left about me I want to share people don’t know?

  • What can I say?
All but the fish eating fact are new to me.
Every little piece is a part of the larger puzzle.

I only prefer plain English when the alternative does not entertain.

    Entertaining as usual.

I can take the heavy stuff too, so don’t worry on my account.

    Hoyden?

  • I’m a poker fan.

I like “the five things” deal. I always hope someone will write something different and themselves a “piscivorous hoyden”.

Those who eat fish tend to be more deterministic in their thinking than those who eat Big Macs.

  • You never do anything reckless? Ever?

  • casey: Eh, skip the no hitter although I’m sure it’s fascinating.

G: Have a good rest of the weekend. Working is not a bad thing. Hoydens are just a better deal all the way around.

Pia: I’m sure there are thousands of things.

    Jacob: yes, hoyden.

dane: What book have you been reading?

    Baby:

I’m not reckless by nature. It doesn’t mean everything I do is without risk. I drive The Beltway, snowboard, surf and rock climb. I do not do things without first knowing how to do them. I’m not impulsive in my actions. I’m sure one or twice in my life I’ve done something that might be considered reckless, but it is really hard to pinpoint what that might have been.

  • I wanna be a hoyden, I like the word. You can keep the fish I want my steak.

Not reckless but likely to participate in risky behavior after learning how to do it in the safest way possible. That is you.

Of physics and philosophy I don’t speak on labor day weekend.

I might have to switch my blog to a meme tag blog. I haven’t posted in a long time because I became bored with black dresses.

  • Cooper responding to a tag… I’ll have to mark my calendar.

Excellent; well, you are a fishmonger.

  • If I had a blog, I’d answer this tag.

    Sounds like a song, no?

  • There aren’t 5 things about me known or unknown, but you owe us one. Longtime readers knew you were piscivorous. Poker is great fun. Cigars or no?

  • He’s right, piscivorous is not an unknown to those who know you, or those who have been reading this blog for awhile. I know you just wanted to use that word and it flowed nicely but you owe us one.

Poker and Cigars go hand in hand but I will gamble and say no one was smoking them at your place.

Determinism — as varied as the individual who calls themself deterministic.

  • Cooper I think you were born looking out for yourself. “Impulsive” and “reckless” are never words I would use to describe you

Well maybe the picture with Rove – even if a cardboard cut up :)

  • kait: You too can be a hoyden. I imagine there are only so many black dresses out there. Just because you assigned yourself that name back in the day doesn’t mean you have to post about black dresses. If I have to wear a dress it’s going to be black though.

EW: I love the term fishmonger so .…for the people.

Dedd: Then I suggest you get your blog on my friend. It is lonely without you.

Doug: I wold love to delve into your file of secrets. Eh, I’ll owe you all one. One day when bored I’ll just post a random but fascinating fact…

John: No smoking inside but they did smoke on the balcony or what I like to call the “k second level back almost porch”.

Pia: Seldom reckless but often foolish…less so as I get older but yea.
