It really is hard to know what to say, or it’s easy to write volumes.

Still sur­vi­ving Hiroshima

Fin­ding very little men­tion of Hiroshima, while fin­ding all man­ner of other ridi­cu­lous “news”, is not only irk­some but telling.

We fuc­king drop­ped an ato­mic bomb on a city of human beings. I think that it deser­ves a large collec­tive reflec­tion at least one day a year.


White Light/Black Rain airs August 6 at 7:30 p.m. on HBO. It will be repea­ted August 7 at noon and 10 p.m.; August 11 at noon; August 13 at 11:30 a.m. and 11 p.m.; August 19 at 3 p.m. and August 22 at 4 p.m.. It also plays on HBO2 August 9 at 6 p.m.; August 16 at 12:30 a.m. and August 20 at 8 p.m. All times are Eas­tern Stan­dard Time
