The night in Muddy Water.

I updated my wish list and put it in my profile…hint, hint. I am going to settle in to finish up a paper, and read two books I was given today, two books I probably wouldn’t have purchased, but as I was given them I’m going to take a shot.

The first is “Hannibal Rising”, I know some people panned it but I am fond of the series and although “Silence of the Lambs” was grotesque it is one of my all time favorite movies. The other is a book geared more toward parents, at least it appears that way, it’s called “Packaging Girlhood”; I’m going to breeze through tonight anyway.

I am burning “Muddy Waters — The Chess Box”. I borrowed it and I have to give it back tomorrow. Good Times.

I changed to this from the overtly green as it is easier on the eyes. I have no design skills and although it does feel weird having a template someone else has I am going with it for the holidays. It doesn’t have widgets though and that is killing me.

All my link suggestions will be on either Thursday or Friday now, unless I am referring to an article or promoting the Darfur site or article I have written; that is unless they are references. I find I need some kind of schedule as well, and when school resumes structure must return.

That having been said, Rio has a kick-ass post for those leaning toward poetic thought and she has a video to accompany it. Trans as always has a lot of beautiful wordage going on but her site is by approval only. I think it is well worth trying to get approved.

I hadn’t been to Ned Rosen’s site in some time (dirty lens), it was getting a little personal and I wasn’t comfortable going there. Artists tend to “go there” and I think my diving to the right into anthropology instead of taking that left road into pure art was due to the fact I was never comfortable “going there” publicly; I stopped by Ned’s a couple days ago and lo and behold, Ned is married to woman from Israel — Aya/ woman / artist/ — who he met online.

There site louche lab on my sidebar, so cool.

Also, go vote for the Sudanese Thinker at the Weblog awards. That link takes you directly to the vote for his blog. Oh, and email the link to your non blog reading friends and ask them to vote as well. Consider it a research project. ;)
For fun.

I know, yada– yada– yada…awards..blah, blah, ba humbug, blah… but that having been said I want you all to vote for him daily until the end.

  • voted girl, the city misses you.

  • I really need to update my Christmas wish list as the journey towards completing these two screenplays has left me with the realization my movie treasure trove is seriously lacking. Starting today I’ve decided I need everything that Sarah Polley has ever done since she is one performer/director who has yet to let me down in the quality and range of her work. Today, My Life Without Me; tomorrow, the world.

After that, I need to replenish my stash of beloved 80s teen/coming-of-age stories as that’s the type of stories I write so i might as well learn from my forbearers.

  • You asked. I did – vote that is

  • I don’t keep a wish list. Things I desire don’t have price tags. Besides, as we all know, Christmas … is a humbug! (I’m in the pits … but you knew that.)

  • Girlhood can be packaged?

I better get down to my neighborhood grocer before they’re all gone in the holiday rush.

  • Ooooh, the Chess Box. I’ve had my eye on that. You’re right, that was a really video Rio did. Maybe sharing a state with me was holding her back.

  • Muddy Waters — burn me a copy if you still have it. Not as much of a fanatic as you but if someone is willing to make me a copy I’ll take it.

” yada– yada– yada…awards..blah, blah, ba humbug, blah…”

    I’m impressed.

  • GIRL:me too, it.

mojo: better get started on that list.

    pia:lol

oc: awww, cheer up. Just looking at the lights and eating is fine with me.

dan: it can and has been for quite some time.

doug: You must get it, you must.

    john: you should be.

  • I read Hannibal Rising, you might as well read it if you have read the rest.

I love your yada yada part too. Quite impressive.

  • I come back and everything is so festive. It looks like a candycane threw up in here, but in an attractive way.

  • See, I like the white. Even with the whole left thing (even though I’m mostly left myself) I can tolorate it all better now. No, I don’t know why.

Silence Of The Lambs was much better, and so much more original than it’s sequels. They should have offered Jodie Foster more money because she was so much more important IMO.

Besides, what other movie demonstrates a man tucking his penis between his legs? NONE!!!…

  • Save the Hannibal Rising for me I’ll read it.

Until then I am in ten days of hell.

I know you don’t copy and distrubute CD’s, that would be illegal but if it is on your computer I’d love to listen to it.

    Peace out.

  • As a side note, both Clerks 2 and Club Dread had scenes of “tuckage”. It appears to be a widespread phenomena.

  • Yikes I totally misses these as wordpress is no longer sending me my comments via email. I’m sure it is again something I did but I don’t have time to deal with it.

Leigh girl friend, I missed you. Yea it’s festive alright. lol
Bennett: My sidebar up until the least template was always on the left though. I deal better with it that way– you never complained before…actually the book wasn’t bad for what is was a prequel

    G: peace —  out

dan: one of those “I didn’t need to know” pieces of trivia.

  • Oh..see..I was thinking left..political..see…I really should stop thinking political.
