Missed the floods no need for an ark.

I arrived home safely, no blogger protection program for me.

Awesome time, nice respite, no rain there although three hours away — here — I hear it rained ten inches a day in some parts.  I missed the flood which is good I don’t have an ark. I got to surf for a few hours on North Beach even though it meant getting up at five one morning, had some killer sushi and a great goat cheese salad.

Did some much needed commiserating with old friends, and tried to help one friend get over a deceased two year relationship by pointing out the girl living in the house down the road who happens to surf with them every so often is kind of nice.….…lol. Yeah, I really have no business giving relationship advice I just can’t help myself at times.

The beaches from Maryland to Delaware seemed a little more vacant than usual. This is great for people who live there but for business it’s bad. I mean there was traffic but not the kind one usually sees at these beaches. I hear the restaurants and such are only doing one third of the business they did a year ago. Not sure why I posted this it just seems significant in some way. The gas is about thirty — five cents a gallon cheaper at the beach than here though.

One of my friends suggested we buy some property a mile inland as the ice caps melting and all, as they surely are, indicates the coast will be gone before we die and if we buy a couple miles in we will have beach from property. He may have something there.

I do so crave good coffee. No one there drinks coffee they all drink tea and the coffee they do have stinks so I was lacking in that the last couple of days.

Catching up some;I work the whole weekend thru the 4th for the most part.

  • Thanks for the links cooper! We’re expecting there to be major media coverage of the demonstrations surrounding the railway launch. Every article published in the media today included serious attention devoted to the objections Tibetans have to the railway and the danger giving Han Chinese a quick and cheap means of access to Tibet holds for the survival of Tibetan culture.

Stay tuned for further updates on the state of our protests worldwide.

  • Glad to hear you dodged the waters. This is the second major episode in the East this year — the first hit closer to my home base in New England. I haven’t heard from folk in Maine, but usually when there are security issues and/or high fuel prices, people stay away from tourist destinations there. And since so much of the Maine economy is tourism now, people suffer. Of course, the turista could have all been home watching the World Cup, too.

Remember everyone here is not free either

    Oh yeah:

LIBERTY, n. The condition of the nearsighted mouse which, because it is unable to see any bars, believes itself to be uncaged.

Americans are so much enamored of the blessings of liberty that, throughout their history, they have devoted enormous amounts of time and treasure to its export to other peoples – usually, at gunpoint.

How is it that we hear the loudest yelps for liberty among the drivers of negroes?

  • The situation in Tibet is one I hear very little about.
I appreciate you posting that and am going to see what I can find in the major media on this subject.

I’m glad you had a rest and glad it didn’t rain on your parade.

  • You’re lucky you missed the rain it was hefty; five people drowned in the area due to rising water. Very sad.

It’s good that you got some rest and I’m glad you didn’t have to go into any type of protection program.

The Tibetan situation is interesting; it’s something we very seldom think about here.

China is still potent and a great violator of human rights, we should not forget that.

  • […] Human rights activist-blogger Cooper of Wonderland or Not has posted on the action. She reminds her readers that, “The world is freer when everyone is free. Remember everyone here is not free either no matter what you might think.” Amen, Cooper. […]

  • Yea, they don’t have such protection for livejournalist’s.

Tibet is a situation which I rarely read anything about.

China is trying to fool us into thinking they are what they are not.

China is evil but due to money we forget.

Money will make us forget everything.

  • Just a question miss “political activist”.

What do you have to say about the Duke Lacrosse case now?

Do you feel even a little bit guilty???????

Who else do you want to free?

    Tibet?
    ???????

  • Hey Alice.

I have been looking at your blog even though I said that I wouldn’t be reading it. Technically I have been “skimming it”, cause I’m a “old” man of my word.

Well, I have to tell you us Protagori have a saying:
    “make the weaker the stronger”

We take that to mean the despite your initial adamancy on any issue, the more you make the “weaker” the “stronger” the stronger your position always(no quotes) becomes.

Become China, become the Dali Lama and argue accordingly.
Do this privately, because then you’ll need less protection.

Of course, then you’ll have to melt down one of the Nobel Peace Prizes to give me my fair share of gold for having tipped you off.

Let’s see, with 1 microgram of electroplated gold on one of those thingers, that should come to 1 picogram.

Rounding to the nearest gram, that makes 0 grams.

    Thanks, beyotches.

  • Matt: anytime

    o_ceallaigh : Indeed.

    joeg: sure thing

Jacob: yea I missed it, and yes China is a bitch.

Casey: money may make you forget everything.….. Maybe you need to read more.

randy: as this is getting redundant let’s just say you don’t read very well either…I say the same thing I have always said.…there are more racist ‚misogynists pigs out there than we know.…many trolling throughout the internet.

Protagoras: Making the weaker the stronger is always the answer.
Gold is too soft to be useful so you can have it all.
I’m glad you scroll through as my need for random philosophers grows with each passing day.
I hope that it does not disturb, to any significant degree, your quest for inner peace.
