You Didn’t Have to be So Nice, and a Blogger’s Fantasy

June 26th, 2006 by cooper

I’m leaving early tomorrow morning. I have to work for an hour or two this afternoon, and I’ve no intention of driving in the pouring rain this evening.

I’m going to help a friend celebrate his twenty-first birthday. There are certain friends that we have for life and without a doubt he is in that category. I am lucky to have him as a friend, hence the trek in potential monsoon like conditions-all to be a designated driver. (Just kidding)

Don’t know for sure when I’ll be back. I’m taking the laptop but I’m not sure how much use it will be. I only have two days off. I worked the weekend in order to be able to grovel for this and not look like a spoiled child who has worked a few weeks and now is saying ” I don’t want to be a grown up anymore”. I will actually be doing work for one job while at the beach so go figure.

Notes: I think I’ve written enough inconsequential nonsense over the paste few days to keep you entertained, but some things I’ve read I want to note.

The Poetic musings of tran, yet again, hit me and make me incredibly jealous so go read the spectacular post at the place I call word cum heaven but which she calls Northern Way.

truth be told, sometimes I feel a weird unseen pressure of the blogsphere – and I don’t think I can measure up. It sounds ridiculous to commit such things to words – but I actually feel that way from time to time regarding this here little blog. In fact, sometimes I fantasize about pushing the delete button.…..

Oh, that song I was trying to remember after that “ I would have loved you anyway” trackback from Pia………… Lovin Spoonful You Didn’t Have to be so Nice

I posted something at Taking Place which you might want to read, or not. Not particularly substantial just getting my feet wet. Should We care about this . As is often the case Indie is my conscience.

I’m out.

Will read you all in bits and pieces this evening. Will someone take care of Wombat while I’m gone? He is ill.

Oh………………

Do you ever wonder — secretly —  when bloggers disappear if they are really in jail, have died, possibly been murdered their body not discovered yet, or maybe if they are in the witness protection program  — and it failed just like everything the government does is apt to do?

Have you ever heard of the blogger protection program???????????
No??

See you in a couple of days.

I hope.

You didn’t have to be so nice

I would have liked you anyway

If you had just looked one or twice

And gone about your quiet way

Sounds like someone is entering into the blogger protection program.

Enjoy the days off and the rain. :)

Old bloggers don’t disappear, silly. They merely write themselves away.

I sincerely hope that when I die it’s not in the midst of writing a post. I’d hate to be writing something like,

“and so, when it really came down to it.… AAAAARGHHH…”

  3. Enjoyed your post, enjoy your birthday party.

What about all the bloggers who disappeared but have been replaced with an imposter to cover up the incident?

And what a sweet thing to say, that I’m your conscience. Is that like the little guy with angel wings who pops onto your shoulder and tells you what you should and shouldn’t do?

    Nice.
I’ll check it all our while your gone.

Blogger protection program? Sure I’ve heard of it — a lot of the bloggers out there should be in it but for my protection not theirs.

    ;)

Have a good, wet, well deserved couple of days off.

  6. “and so, when it really came down to it…. AAAAARGHHH…”
    “AAAAARGHHH?“
“He must have died while he was writing it“
“Why would he type AAAAAARGHHH, why didn’t he just say it
“Well that’s what’ written on the blog“
    “Perhaps he was dictating“
    “Oh shut up”

Actually, I’ve been in a situation where a blogger was gone for a while who was in prison. So yeah I tend to get those sorts of ideas.

were you worrying about me darling? ^_^

Enjoy your vacation, Cooper. To say that you deserve it is a gross understatement
