Happy Birthday to Me.

Thanks all, for the birthday wishes.

Best present: Ethan showed up unexpectedly, and my best friend was back in town.

Oh, and reserved floor tickets for a jazz fest concert at Merriweather Post this Saturday from my bro.

I worked all day today, but was kidnapped at midnight last night by a couple of friends from here and Ethan (who showed up as a surprise). They had decided that one minute past midnight was a good time to pop in and drag me to a bar right down the road; just because they could I guess. If you don’t think I wasn’t begging for the bartender to ask for my ID you’d be wrong; just to be able to whip out the id with no pounding heart, no fear of discovery. It’s not that the “highly skilled craftsman” who made my former “ID” didn’t do a kick ass job, (he did) but still.

Needless to say today was very long.

My parents flew down, and we went to dinner; my brother and his gf tagged along. There is something particularly icky about having your mother, looking overtly smug, say in a very loud voice “would you like a Merlot or would you prefer a Cabernet Sauvignon darling”.

I preferred “a pitcher of tart Sangria please and I’m going to drink it all so if you want some get your own”.

Gemini is associated with the classical element Air, and thus called an Air Sign (with Libra and Aquarius). It is also one of the four mutable signs (along with Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces). Its polar opposite is Sagittarius. It is the domicile of Mercury. Each astrological sign is assigned a part of the body, viewed as the seat of its power. Gemini rules the nervous system, the lungs, the hands and arms. The symbol for Gemini is the twins. Gemini are communicators of the Zodiac. They are also the nonconformists of the Zodiac.

The purpose of Gemini is to be one who gathers and conveys information. Gemini puts great value on the mind and its thinking function, to the extent that emotional experiences may be regarded as complications that are best avoided. Psychologically, air is attracted to water, but air finds the emotions difficult to deal with as they don’t fit in with its concept of an ideal world. But emotions must be dealt with for the mind to be effective.

Most Gemini have a keen, intuitive, sometimes brilliant intelligence and they love cerebral challenges.

aren’t asking for much, just someone who will stimulate their mind for a great time. Of course, those mental hijinks need to have a bit of follow-through, so a lover with variety on their mind will score a perfect 10. Adaptable and versatile. Communicative and witty. Intellectual and eloquent. Youthful and lively. Cunning and inquisitive.

You see how I keep repeating the keen, brilliant mind part? I of course left out the pieces I did not like.

It’s my party eh?
