It’s late, I’m tired but worth noting that The Pulitzer Prizes for commentary has(according to the Pulitzer site) been
Awarded to Nicholas D. Kristof of The New York Times for his graphic, deeply reported columns that, at personal risk, focused attention on genocide in Darfur and that gave voice to the voiceless in other parts of the world.
We won’t go into the Plame thing here and looking back on the criticism he got for that..well maybe the President should have taken his heat anyway.
Our own Pia Savage is at it again in her blog featured for the second time in less than two weeks …this time in Newsday. I don’t particularly consider her a boomer blogger though; I consider her more a writer but I guess that is neither here nor there. I didn’t get a vote on that one.
You all have been very patient and I’m afraid you will have to be more so as I will continue to cover the Duke Lacrosse thing due mainly to the fact that attitudes all over the internet really annoyed me.
I thought of using my unused blog “idego” to post all the links for the Duke stuff and considering that the posts are a bit self indulgent it might have been a good idea but in the end I just really don’t have time for three blogs at this time so you will have to sift through it all and pick and choose as you all do so well anyway.
So many people writing so many good things.…
Luckily Wombat kept track if it all this weekend and he has linked to most of it so check him out for the weekly advertising.
The weekend was great, I was fed, did some socializing, did not argue with my parents about religion during dinner because since they stopped bothering to try to tell me what I need to think I no longer have the compulsion to prove them wrong.
To each their own as long as my toes are left alone.
I am uber busy and have some things coming up that will take me away even during the quest for the perfect frame of mind for finals.
Life is like a piece of rope which can fold over onto itself many times; one can pull the rope into a straight line every so often but it is bound to get bunched up and even knotted again and again.
Life is the big untying.

One of the funnest and most interesting exercises I ever undertook as a young thinker of the world was playing the “Life is…” game. Basically, try to find the most random object, idea, or expression and provide the analogy how that one “thing” is like life… all within twenty seconds of being provided the “thing”.
One of my favorites and the one I remember the most is “Life is like a basketball; you may be pushed to the ground, but you always bounce back.”
Loved the paragraph about your parents, dinner, religion and you no longer
having the compulsion to prove them wrong.
Found it was easier to meet my father in a public place, just because
nobody ever knew what would set him off
Will link to the Darfur site now
The big untying for sure.
Write whatever you want. Wild horses couldn’t drag me away.
In review I think wild horses just might be able to drag me away
but I would put up a good fight.
I’m staying away from the toes and it sounds like you had a good
weekend not trying to prove your parents wrong.
Linked to your Darfur site as soon as I can.
I’m happy to link up to Darfur.
Still folding over have no time for untying today.
I remained blissfully at school this Easter.
Linked.
Glad all was peaceful with the parental units.
Being a yogi knots and straight lines are essential to my survival. Does my heart good to see this awareness here…
“Life is the big untying” I’m plagiarizing that.
So you’re busy. What about our needs?
Life is the big untying? You should copyright that.
“To each their own as long as my toes are left alone.” My sentiments exactly. As long as I don’t feel like a good brawl.
I agree about “Life is the big untying.” Classic.
