Some brief Talking points on Darfur from American Progress: Taking Action in Darfur.

The full article can be found here .

So tell me.…if you were taken hostage in some foreign country by people hostile to your government and these people made you dress in a way you were opposed to but really wanted to stay alive and if the people actually treated you well ‚except for the fact that they weren’t going to let wear you own clothing and wouldn’t let you go, would you spit in their face and tell them you wanted your gap jeans and tank top?

I’m very busy at this time going to meetings and volunteering for border patrol.….….. the city must be protected ; it is especially difficult when dealing with people from Tallahassee as they are manipulative and sly although usually pretty stupid.

One quick note from my trip.: It was amazing to me to see a large number of older American men outside a restaurant in Jaco…driving up on golf carts and picking up prostitutes. It was like watching a bad movie and I couldn’t help but stare even though that little ball of nausea was creeping up. What amazed me even more was that in some cases, while at the hotel bars in the evening, some of the lawyers at this event came in with women that we assumed were prostitutes as well but who indeed turned out to be ( on closer inspection) their “newly engineered” wives.

I hope to be out from under soon.

Addendum: It’s always something isn’t it? Check out the Shakira video posted at my old site

( because it won’t embed here) . I’m heading to my first “dance like Shakira” class…actually more like a quasi — belly dancing class but I was coerced and I need a break. We’ll see how it goes.

  • Pretty sure I would do whatever it took to stay alive.

“Newly engineered” makes them sound like they just got off of the assembly line.

  • Keep on pressing.

Certain I’d op for the Burka.

“I never really knew that she could dance like this
She makes a man wants to speak Spanish
Como se llama, bonita, mi casa, su casa
    Shakira, Shakira”

Va Para Él Tricia. Las caderas no mienten.

  • I think I meant Haga lo que usted debe. La caderas no miente.

  • I’m commenting in several posts together. I always have to save you for last because there is always so much in one little bunch.

    Sold Out.

Nothing like starting out with a Bloody Mary.

    I’m with you on immigration.

“Newly engineered wives”. That sounds scary.

    Nice slideshow.

Thank You for Shakira and good luck with the dance lessons.

  • Oh and I would opt for the Burka as well.

  • another thing

My wife is a lawyer and she would not want me engineered any other
    way.

  • Shakira… hot…Hot…HOt… HOT… I wish I could dance like that…
    Prrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

  • Cowgirl: they looked like they had just gotten off an assembly line as well.

John: It’s the second one I believe. Exactly I wouldn’t even complain about the color.

jacob: ha ha making up for lost time. I’m sure your wife is a fine lawyer as many are and I am also positive you are engineered right.

Shakira: me to obut as I found out today .…well maybe I can. ;)

  • Shakira eh? As long as they do the hip moves. I was not too impressed by her tit shaking moves on the song she had with Alejandro Sanz… although I am sure the fellas won’t mind but even my Loverboy said it looked stupid and he is as manly as they come…

    Shake with care amiga…

  • Hips like Shakira class, eh? Intriguing. Where may I enroll in such a class myself so that I too may have hips like Shakira?

  • Can you choose the Burka color? Pattern?

  • Where do I sign up to dance like Wyclef? And are you going to
videotape yourself and put that video up as well for comparison? Pleeeeeese?

  • mizzy bohem: Shakira Shaira…lol

mojo: that wouldbe absolutely .…so tran. lol

Dedd: Hope so but I wouldn’t push for it as when my life is at stake I am fairly acquiescent.

Coyote: Don’t know but I’m sure there is a place within a hundred miles of you that would be willing to take you on. If I ever post a video of myself online please send the mind police to takle me away.

  • I can’t think of anything dumber than criticizing Jill Carroll right now. Except not hoping to see your Shakira imitation.

  • Exactly Doug. Some people just have nothing better to do with their time because certainly they can’t be that misguided or stupid.
    At least I would hope.
What a wasted space. To think they could have put a story on Darfur there.
